I am rebuilding my eGo Vision (Stardust) I am using Ody wick and was wondering can I use Kanthal D? I know everyone says use A or A1 or nichrome, but why? Thanks in advance....

the D has the lowest heat resistance of the kanthal family. A-1 the highest followed by A.
Although I think there may even be a higher heat resistance kanthal than the A-1. Not sure though.

I have been using Kanthal D lately since that was all I could find the last time I was in the market for Kanthal. It has been working well for me so far.
I cant help but notice that kanthal states its made out of iron-chromium-aluminum alloy. All of which put off toxic fumes when heated up. And the only thing that changes when combined (to my knowledge) is melting point. Am i missing something that makes this safe in an e-cig?
