Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, I'm on the phone with a client this afternoon, and the receptionist sends me a message "Arlene called and said there's an emergency. Call her ASAP". SO got home from her conference, and not 5 minutes after getting home, BDD in all her excitement to see Mama managed to get a buckle of her harness to tear across SO's leg. Much blood and torn skin. Miss Claire (Mrs. Uncle Kerm) takes SO to the ER. I get there a bit later, after tidying up a couple of loose ends (I do *NOT* do blood or open wounds very well..... ) Her leg had JUST healed from the LAST round of stitches..... ZOMG

Yup, twelve stitches this time...
Oh NO!!

SO needs some leg shields or gaters like they use for hiking or hunting! She's probably so tired of this, I feel so bad for her.

And I have THE MOST wonderful news!! Oreo is now down out of the tree and safely in the house. Alive and skinny as a rail. Now I get to fatten her back up! Life is GOOD!!
Yay! Maybe she won't try this again.

I don't know...maybe. Laura's cat wasn't here when she left so she may feel shunted. But, I'm also hoping that Shadow being here will give her someone to play with so she doesn't get bored. Shadow is younger but about the same size and Oreo has never been a diva kitty. She gets along with other cats fairly well. I'm going to do everything I possibly can to make sure it doesn't. :)

SOMEBODY PLEASE SHOOT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This day is turning into a fiasco!!!!!!!!
I know how this goes. Had it done many times. Sorry to hear about it.

The Youngling is not in his "safe place". I'm hoping he's spread his wings and taken to the skies
I am hoping he got his wings.

How's this for Matchy-Matchy? :)

Replaced the leaky Skyhook, with this alien. The Mage and the alien are a great team.
Nice!

I worked all 7 hours last night. It was almost 5 before they found me a spot though. The way I understand it, I've become a "floater" going wherever I'm needed. I'm grateful that I still have a job but I'm not thrilled about the floating.
I would think it would be a good thing. Management thinks you are so good that you are trusted to stand-in in other areas.

Oh wow! So sorry to hear about the trip to the ER. I think I would be getting a different harness or covering the buckle with Deck Tape.

Great to hear Oreo is back safe and sound.

:(:( This does not make me happy. :(:( Poor girl just can't seem to catch a break... either of you. Prayers that all heals well and quickly.:wub:

On a slightly side note... I found a harness for BDD that doesn't have buckles. ;) It got pretty good reviews and the only buckle is in the middle of the back where the "D" rings for the leash are located. Might be a good alternative.

The last couple nights I have had a really bad time trying to sleep. I can't lay down in bed without having really bad, lots worse than normal, pain in my back. It all started a couple days ago when I leaned over in my chair and picked up my dog to put her on my lap. I finally put on my coffee and I think I will take a to go cup and go out to the workshop. I have a wood blank glued up and ready to turn. So sitting at my lathe and turning a pen sounds like a good idea. Pics to follow if it turns out OK.

We have looked everywhere to no avail for a harness for Nala. Even the XS ones are 2 big for her. :( Since we have to use a leash for her right now to keep her from chasing the cats, a harness would be better than a collar. Maybe I'll just sit down with fabric to design and make one for her?

Back pain is such a PITA. Can you take anything for it?

Can't wait to see that pen!

Being a seamstress myself I collect patterns and I have a couple for when I have a little dog again. Here are a couple I like

This one is made with fabric

And this one is made with gros grain ribbon
