The last 2 times I rebuilt the kayfun 3.1 I got in the classies, I've noticed I've been getting dry hits, as if the juice isn't wicking. What should I do differently?
Build specs: single coil,, 28 gauge wire w/8 wraps, 1.1 ohms. Wicked with 3mm silica wick.
Are you filling right? Creating a vacuum? I was constantly getting dry hits until I found out how to fill it properly. Here's how I do it:
1. All put together except for the top cap.
2. I put my finger over the air hole(s). Mine only has one.
3. Fill with eliquid from the top.
4. Start to screw top cap on. When It gets to the oring (before you tighten it all the way), flip it upside down (with finger still over air hole) and tighten the cap all the way down.
5. Let finger off air hole and flip back rightside up.
6. Blow the little bit of juice out of the air hole.
If you don't create a proper vacuum in the tank you get dry hits. This works for me every time.
At 12:10 in the video he shows what I'm talking about. Works great!
3.1 has a side fill hole. Long tip plastic dropper bottle work great. Flip the whole mod and atty upside down, remove screw, inject fluid, install screw, flip, suck and then vape.
Are you using thick juice? I use THICK juice and like it that way. I just have to:
1) hold the air holes and suck lightly to pull juice in.
2) If you pull in too much and get juice out of the air holes, just turn it upside down, put a piece of tissue over the air holes to catch the excess juice and blow.
You'll get it right after a few attempts. This WILL work. I refuse to thin my juice and do this on all my tanks.
