i have been reading lots of info regarding the filling of the kayfun 3.1

the proper way to fill is using the fill valve on the base but the bottle i was supplied the tip doesn't fit the fill hole. i have lots of other eliquid bottles and non of them fit properly either.

i have tried shaving bits off my bottle tips but having little success.
have also read that its not a good idea to use metal tipped syringes as it damages the valve in the fill hole, have not done this out of fear of breaking the valve.

i have tried top filling with mixed results.
have had one fill with 0 leakage.
the rest i have had small amounts of leaking due to it not been air tight and small amounts of air working their way out,
after this its been fine and no leaks..

have tried every method on the net apart from making a plug to put in the top of the chimney that you pull out through the drip tip after the lid is fitted.

My recent preference has been through the fill hole, and it works o.k. even with a glass dropper from a typical ejuice bottle. Whatever doesn't go in I just suck back up with the dropper and put back in the fill hole. Seems easier than getting a little juice I have to clear from the air hole. Most of the brick and mortar guys seem to do the other method. Fill from the top while keeping your finger on the air hole then put top on to first thread with finger over the drip tip flip and screw the top down. If you do get some leakage try flipping everything upside down and blow through the air hole while firing it. Should clear it right out. Another side note. I never wanted to drill my authentic kayfun lite plus V2, but I wanted more airflow. Right now, I am using a cherry vapes cloud chaser delrin drip tip and removed the air flow screw. Works great!
Hope my ramblings were of use to you.

Some of the KayFun CLONES have a defective fill falve located on the side of the device and NOT next to the 510 connector pin on the base. I have two of them. They worked for a short time via a syrange (and never worked via a needle tip bottle) and then the valve broke which produced massive leaks. I plugged both of the fill valve holes with food grade silicone sealant. For this reason you read about filling from the top.

Please note that with either authentics or quality KF clones you have a fill screw/hole on the base next to the 510 connection pin. Unscrew with these and fill. This works every time.

I have my own method for filling from the top with my two defective clones. Lube all the threads and orings first. Insure that the chimney and cap are both as tight as you can make them. Then upright and fill. Then finger over the air hole and completely install the top cap. Tightened all the way down. The last step: turn the KF over/upside down and check for flooding by blowing through the air hole with tissue over the drip tip.

If using the top fill, I tend to use Newport's method, "catch" the first thread, invert, uncover air intake and finish tightening. Then, with the air intake up (holding it horizontal), I'll take a few pulls to establish the vacuum. (Don't fill all the way up, max out about half way up the top threads. You need room for the vacuum.)

If using bottom fill with "fat" tip bottles, I'll press the tip of the juice bottle firmly against the fill hole and gently squeeze, giving it time for the pressure to "leak" out the intake. And I don't try to fill the KF with one long squeeze, more like "pumping" it full. After replacing the screw, I'll do the same vacuum prime before putting it upright. If filling this way, fill until the liquid just hits / passes the PMMA portion, if you use it.
