Kayfun 3.1 gurgling/low vapor production problems

Just starting to build my own coils with my ehpro kayfun 3.1 clone. Just finished a microcoil build with 32g kanthal at about 8 wraps that came out to 1.2ohms. I put a little bit of juice on the cotton before connecting the other pieces, and then filled from the top. Just dripped the juice in and closed the top didn't cover the airhole or anything while doing this. When I started vaping I noticed bad gurgling and was getting juice in my mouth. I unscrewed the very bottom of the kayfun and found excess juice in the bottom chamber, so I cleaned that out. I blew through the top of the mouthpiece to get the rest of the juice out of the airholes (is this the right thing to do?). Reconnected everything and still have gurgling but slightly better vapor production.

But the vapor production is still very low and still have gurgling. Any ideas? This is the best picture I could get of my build

Took it apart and emptied the juice out, adjusted the coil a little bit and pulled it up above the center airhole between the two posts as much as I could. Refilled from the top. No more gurgling but still low vapor production

That many wraps with 32g kanthal should give you way more than 1.2ohms.

Also. You should never fill from the top without covering air hole. It'll flood real bad.

5 Wraps on 32 guage is good enough.

I was surprised that it came out to 1.2 ohms, thats about 7-8 wraps at approx 1/16 with 32g and I was expecting 2ohms or so. I am not sure why I'm getting 1.2 ohms out of 32g with that many wraps. Gurgling problems fixed but still less vapor than I should be getting, any ideas?

Double check the ohms. I'm thinking it should be closer to 2.5-3.0. You may have a minor short somewhere.

What device you have this attached to?

evic. pushing 11W through it. how would I know if I had a short? what causes a short?

The post bases are causing a short. Make sure they aren't touching. When you tighten the screw for the post base if you aren't careful the base will turn a bit and make contact with the other base causing it to short.

Pardon my ignorance, I don't understand what you mean by this. The post bases are on opposite sides, how could they be touching? I am still getting an ok vape, is it bad to continue using this coil if there is a short?

might have too much cotton in there for thicker juices or wick is not sitting so that it's wicking from the channels, and do not overfill!,leave room for a little air, it works on vacuum

IMO you've got too much cotton in the coil. It's very easy to replace it and try it with less. I think you are choking the wick and simply not getting enough juice to the coil. Be careful not to push the cotton into the juice channels.

On the bottom where it screws into the kayfun it attatches at the larger post, make sure that post hasn't slid off of the insulator below it and make sure your air hole lines up with the hole in the long screw. More air more vapor.
