first off..
best forum i have been on for a while.
lots of helpful people, not come across any idiots and get feed back fast...

also I thought i had been vaping for a while.. but since getting a mod and the kayfun I now consider myself new to vaping..

have yet another question,
prior to getting my new vaping gear i was using the ego battery with mini protank 3 and was using 24mg strength nicotine.
it just about right..
i did read that i should lower the mg levels when using the kayfun. of course i ignored that bit...
im now wishing i hadnt...
i have already stocked up on LOTS of juice all at 24mg strength... and its blowing my head off in the kayfun.
a couple of hits and im off my nuts..im finding it hard to type this at present as i have just had a heavy vape..

is there a way i can dilute the strength or change the way the kayfun vapes to lower this ?
i did think of buying the same brand juice at 0 nicotine and diluting my existing juices.

Hi Chuxsta, welcome to the forum. I agree, lots of really good people sharing some excellent information.

So you already have kind of got the answer yourself, getting 0mg e-liquid and mixing it together with your 24mg liquid will reduce the nicotine levels without compromising the flavor. So if you mix it 1 part 0 and 3 parts 24, you will end up with 18, 2/2 parts will give you 12 ect.

If you didn't want to buy the same liquids, you could always buy some straight VG or PG and mix it in. This of course will mean that the flavorings will be diluted too as well as the nicotine strength.

Thanks that was very helpful to know ( In the Shade) . I was wondering about that. I have the calculator app and it is helpful w/ mixing from scratch but does not give info on mixing 2 different nic levels and the ratio's. Anywhere on here I can find more about mixing?? I like to just play around with stuff Kinda fun.

Ejuice, it's all about ratios. If you have 24 mg and 0 mg, a 50/50 mix will take you down to 12 mg. Short formula is something like (#ml * 24mg/ml) + (#ml * 0mg/ml) = total ml unknown mg/ml. Basically then, take the total volume of mL and divide by 24mg. You should get your new nic level.

Couple numeric examples that may help:

10 ml * 24mg/ml + 10 ml * 0mg/ml = 20 ml containing 240 mg. 240/20 = 12mg

5 ml * 24mg/ml + 10 ml * 0mg/ml = 15 ml containing 120 mg. 120/15 = 8mg

15 ml * 24mg/ml + 5 ml * 0mg/ml = 20 ml containing 360 mg. 360/20 = 18 mg

Hope that helps :)

Yeah after getting the Russian and upping my watts to 15, had to drop down to 18 mg, or walk around dazed and confused for 1/2 hour or so. lmao, then went mech and high amp regulated, had to drop down to 12 mg. Now me "Sweet Spot" seems to be around 70-75 watts, and my max rda spot is in the 90's. 12 now is like nic from a camel straight. or so. lol. Kind of need to go lower nic for the magmas, but only vape those at home in a reclined position, so just haven't gotten around to lowering my dosage.

There's 2 ways to lower your nic, can dilute it with like 6 mg nic juice of the same flavor, equal amounts of both will get you 15 mg nic juice, or you can dilute with Vg, which will drop your nic level, but also drop the flavor %, so flavor would diminish also.

I only DIY juice, so it's super easy for me to alter my juice if needed. You can lower your watts, which would lower the amount of nic vaporized, but what fun is that :D

First, congratulations on finding you "happy spot" with your gear and welcome to ECF!

I experienced the exact same thing. Got a Russian (clone) and now my nicotine level is a little too high (12mg). I just bought a 16 oz bottle of one of favorite juices too!! Guess I am going to have to pick up some 0mg of the same and start mixing them a little. But, not giving up the Russian; enjoying it too much!!

I vape at 8watts with 18mg nic. I bumped my e-LVT with my authentic R91 on top with a 1.86 Ohm coil to 15watts, and got a buzz! It doesn't seem like I'm getting much more vapor, but it does seem like I'm getting more of a nic hit. That might be a good way to conserve on my nic when mixing my juice.

Nice set up!

When you're mixing liquids, you'll use the "weighted average" approach to find the strength of the mixture. Let's say you've got

liquid of strength 24 mg/ml, and
liquid of strength N mg/ml.

Then to get a mixture of the Desired strength D mg/ml, you'll use

x = (24 - D)/(D - N) ml of the weak liquid, for every 1 ml of the strong 24 mg/ml liquid. As an example, let's say you order 6 mg/ml liquid, and you'd like to try 18 mg/ml liquid. Then you'll use (24 - 18)/(18 - 6) = 6/12 = 1/2 ml of the weak, for every 1 ml of the stronger. If you like nice whole numbers, like most people, double it and use 1 ml of the weak, and 2 ml of the strong. (Of course, if you just want to test 18 mg/ml, then you probably wouldn't want to double...)

Be careful, because you can never mix to a strength below the weaker of the two, and the weaker your desired mg/ml, the less of the 24 mg/ml you'll be using; it could take quite a while to use up the 24 if you find that you like 10 mg/ml (more than 3 parts weak to 1 part strong, if using 6mg/ml to mix).

In general, if you've got

x ml of liquid strength M mg/ml, and
y ml of liquid strength N mg/ml,

you'll end up with (x+y) ml of liquid containing xM + yN mg of nicotine, for a strength of (xM + yN)/(x+y) mg/ml.
