Kayfun 5 - TPD version

I was just on the Creme de Vape site looking for any sales for tanks. Due to the new TPD laws tanks over 2ml can not be sold in the EU. The Kayfun 5 is well over the limit so thought I might find a sale. I did not find a sale but there was a note stating that this tank can not be sold in the EU after May 19, TPD VERSION COMMING SOON! I think we are about to see a KF5 Mini coming out to comply with the new law, exciting!!

I haven't.

The Kayfun Mini 3 is compliant with TPD.

I still use a Kayfun lite plus V2 witg 25mm tall bell cap.

As far as i am concerned the new Kayfun 4 5 and mini V3 can go straight to _______.

Had a V4 and a Mini V3 both authentics. My little Kayfun lite plus V2 clone blows the doors off both v4 and Mini V3.

My mini V3 leaked juice like a sieve.

I am a bit confused about this 2ml TPD limit having just watched phil B's vid on the stuttgart vape expo. The Vapour Giant guys are still pumping out massive tanks and it seems their interpretation is the max is 10 ml, which is actually the limit for juice bottles...So they have a 40mm diam 9.9 ml thing coming soon which is, as far as I know, not allowed under TPD rules. The Taifun guys are also seemingly ignoring the TPD unless the BT was 'released' before the deadline last year...what a mess but good for them!!!

The Rose 3 now has a TPD version already. I've seen some other companies do that as well. The SM website and on Facebook are having final sales for the KF Lite plus and the V4. Looks like they are trying to make room for some new inventory. Would be nice if they made a KF6 that can have an additional nano kit for the EU and not just another "KF3 mini size atty." The KF5 is a little tall but I enjoy not having to carry a juice bottle to refil with me when I go out and about.

Even if they'd build 20ml tanks, it wouldn't violate the TPD limitations.
The 2ml limit is only for pre-filled caps like those of the Vype E-pen and not for atomizers/tanks.

I can't see how that can be correct! I think companies like svoemesto, stattqualm, eden mods etc etc would have researched this pretty carefully...?!?!?

It is so badly written I'm not evebn sure what it actually means, but 'electronic cigarette' and refill containers are defined later as..

Well, a lot of manufacturers clearly don't subscribe to your interpretation is all I'm saying! I do agree, the wording is extremely vague and could very well be interpreted to mean that these regulations only apply to sealed systems!

It is not my interpretation. This is the official regulation in Germany.
Although I don't know how the regulations in other countries are.

The UK TPD interpretation is a little bit different than the one in Germany, UK expanded the 2ml limit to _all_ tanks.

If manufacturers operate more on a international level or even say UK-centric, 2ml-versions are the only way to go. Smokerstore, Vaporgiant, Steam Pipes etc. are pretty strong concentrated on the german-speaking market (not counting the US, Asia).

Its all subject to change and even lawyers are not sure yet on what , some do say it dont mean RTA,s others do , its ment to be totally confusing then they can sneak what ever in later ,but i do believe that the tank size us 2ml max since all sales are supposed to be done before 20th May then max 2ml on all ,

I love the Kayfun 5 , I'm really glad that it seems that it won't violate the TPD. I was so afraid that they were going to stop selling them that I have 4 (were 5 but one was robbed from me)

Can't wait to see a K6 in the future

Looks like a 2ml Kayfun is coming in September - the Kayfun Prime.

I used to but Kayfun Mini V3 soured me on kayfun the same way the Kayfun 4 disappointed a lot more Kayfun fans.

Here's why i hate Kayfun MIni V3.

Leaked like a sieve

That blasted wall around the build deck. Made cutting the tails proper length and. Positioning tails over the juice wells a pain in the .....

Screw heads so darn small could not use 26 gauge walls.

No more new Kayfuns EVER!

Love KM3, using daily for over the year now. Never leaked, never worried about coil or wick. Just works. The most reliable and easy to build MTL RTA in my collection.

A bit of rumours. SM mentioned that they are planning to introduce couple new MTL tanks this "summer".

Congrats. You got a good one. I'm glad you did. But my $99 authentic Kayfun Mini V3 sucked abd blowed at the same time.
