Looking for a kayfun clone that won't break the bank and has a good airflow control system. Does such an animal exist?

Absolutely , hcigar makes excellent clones , my HCIGAR kayfun can be adjusted from wide open to fully shut on the airflow , I find the 3.1 has less issues with airflow than the kayfun lite clones , heres a link for one for $36.50 delivered , Luxor ships very quickly , they're great to do business with .

You are the man right now. Now what kind of battery can I put this thing on? Don't want to break the bank there either, but would like VV. Also need some way to measure the OHMs to make sure the coils are good to go. Apologies if I'm asking for alot but this is my first experience with RDAs. :2cool:

Now that's the big question , this will be in stock may 26th , you're unlikely to find a better price or warranty with free shipping but keep in mind you'll need to buy at least 2 18650 batteries or 4 18350 batteries to operate this plus a battery charger , don't skimp on either one , I recommend AW , Sony or panasonic batteries and a nitecore charger .

Tobeco and EHPro make good kayfun lite plus clones. They whistle unless you remove the airflow control screw though. I like an open airflow so I always remove the afc screw. A quick Bing search can find decent prices. 101vape.com may not be the cheapest but, they have provided me with good customer service.

If you just want a cheap first kayfun, fasttech.com has a decent one for under $17.

They need to be thoroughly cleaned before use. The airflow is a little too tight for me so, again, I just removed the afc screw. You cannot use a nano kit with it but, you can use the polycarbonate tanks. They ship from China so, it will take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

As far as a battery, I have never used one but, lots of people like the Inokin MVP 2. It has a built in ohm meter. It is vv and/or vw. As VePreis pointed out, 101vape.com has them for $40.

The only other items you will need are some resistance wire and wicking material.
For resistance wire, I recommend 28, 29, or 30 gauge Kanthal A1. Temco sells it cheap and free shipping on qualifying items.
    Resistance Wire
For wicks, I use organic cotton balls. A lifetime supply can be bought at your local pharmacy for around $4.

    Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape

I use a Kayfun Lite on an MVP2 for my go-to-work vape. With a 2Ω 30ga coil, it makes respectable vapor and tastes great.
The OP should go for this , that's a great price .
+1 for 101 Vape, they got what your looking for,and they ship really fast. The EHpro KFL+ V2 Clone would be another good one to take a look at. Hope this helps.

There's been a few issues reported with the EHPro clone concerning the centerpost airhole not being lined up properly as well as the centerpost itself being too long and protruding from the top of the positive block , they are correctible if you adjust or cut the centerpost down to size , the 3.1 has a different design the AFC is on the side meaning you don't have to remove it to adjust it and the centerpost and contact pin are two separate parts it eliminates the possibility of having a misalignment of airflow holes .

Another plus one for 101 Vapes. They have the Kayfun lite plus V2 clone as well. My buddy Lucas has one...I have the authentic KFL+ V2 and can not tell the difference in appearance, build or quality...for almost a 3rd of the cost. Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Clone by EHPro - 101 Vape ..at my local B&M we have a "build bar" to sit around and build coils... I wound a coil to match mine, popped it in his, wicked it with some organic cotton...I kept switching back and forth...no difference in taste or performance.I would highly recommend a KFL + V2 over previous versions or the Russian.

I have the Tobeco and EHPro V2 kfl+ clones from 101vape.com and I would say the Tobeco is the better of the two. The Tobeco has an adjustable 510 positive pin and the EHPro V2 does not. However, the EHPro comes with more extras like the stainless steel mid tank section and full length polycarbonate tank. The Tobeco only comes with the poly mid tank section. Both are compatible with nano kits.
Also, the Tobeco has no markings. The EHPro has counterfeit markings on the bottom.

I just checked the site and, of course, the standard Tobeco kfl+ clones are sold out. Sorry.

Wow choices... which is arguably a better unit the HCigar or the EHPro? Or do they scale out the same?

I prefer the HCIGAR for the reasons I've already given , I'm seeing a lot of positive things about the EHPro and a few negative things , I've had no QC issues with the HCIGAR whatsoever , for a look at one of the negatives about the EHPro visit the kayfun lite thread a few pages back at this point , the problem can be solved with a hacksaw but don't know if this is an isolated incident , it could be , my vote goes to HCIGAR , I'm sure a lot of people will disagree but my HCIGAR's are perfect .

Hcigar is typically a quality product but I just am not a fan of the Kf3.1.

Mostly because I find the fill system to be a PITA. Smaller size of the lite doesent hurt either. Only thing the 3.1 has over the lite is inherently better airflow and afc without removing the atty from your device.

The Tobeco black edition and similar Kayfun lite plus are VERY well made. Garden variety Tobeco not so much.
