You're probably right but I went ahead and emailed for a refund. I'll have to wait and see how it goes.
I'm with you on the kayfun type designs. I think it's the reduced chamber and air up under the coil but whatever, it's a crackin' good vape, as Todd would say.
I recently got an immortalizer clone and it vapes great as well, but not a bit better than my 804s. It quit working after very little use and the negative screw won't tighten down, because the threads are stripped at the top of the hole where it screws in. The screw itself seem to be ok. It must have been catching for just a thread of so at first. I've got a ticket in with fasttech for a return, so we'll see how that goes as well.
I went kayfun/russian crazy.
I ordered 2 from vaper break, which shipped in under 12 hours.
Also ordered 2 of the kayfun clones from FT about a week ago.
Then, the kfl clone hit FT a few days ago, so I ordered 2 of those as well.
LOL
So I'll have 1 russian 91% and 6 different clones to compare.
I like my russian so much, I will be replacing all my gennys with the clones I ordered.
My immortalizers are my favorite drippers.
My gennys and regular drippers have not gotten much use since I switched over to reduced chambers and bottom coils.
Not to get too far off topic, but the negative threads on the immortalizer are pretty easy to fix.
I've had to do the fix on 2 of my 3 from FT.
The fix has held up great for quite some time now.
This is how I did it.
Cut a small piece of 28ga kanthal and fold it into a horseshoe shape.
The height needs to be about the same as the depth of the negative screw hole, and needs to fit fairly snug into the hole width wise.
Now, put it together and force the screw into the threads.
It will bite into the kanthal and grip tightly.
You have to apply quite a bit of downward pressure and use a good quality screwdriver, as you don't want it slipping under the pressure you're going to need to apply.
Has worked great for me.
Be mindful of the ceramic. You don't wanna crack it.
