Mine does seem to wick a little better with the steel tank compared to the plastic one, when using thicker juices. Maybe the plastic ones have a slightly smaller inner diameter, which affects the juice flow, especially when the tank is low.

That makes sense to me, seems to be whats happening. Unless there's not sufficient vacuum with the plastic tank.
I'll stick with the steel tank for now.....Thanks for your thoughts

Another thought on plastic vs metal tank. Since you can see inside the plastic tank, when you fill it you fill it fuller than with the metal tank which you can't see into. So you overfill with plastic vs metal. Just a thought, although I do like the diameter difference explanation. If I save up enough to buy one and its not been done, I'll pull out my calipers and measure wall thicknesses for comparison.

I just got my tobeco kayfun mini, I can get the all steel sections to wick good, but for some reason, the clear tank when put over the chimney just won't wick right.....has anyone else had this problem? The juice doesn't seem to get the wick hole right with the clear tank
Maybe it's just me, steel tank wicks fine.

I can verify the same problem. I took a look at it and put just the bell and chimney inside both the clear and SS sections and found there was good clearance for juice with the SS section and it was a much tighter fit with the clear section. The clear section is the same OD, but a thicker wall than the SS. There just isn't enough room for juice migration with the clear section on the bottom. It can still be used in the center section in long mode, but doesn't work as the bottom section for me even with 50/50 PG/VG juice. Maybe a very high PG juice might work, I haven't tried that. I really would rather have the clear section at the bottom so I can see the juice level

Other than that issue, the tank has performed very well. No leaks, great draw for such a tiny thing, warm but not hot vape, great flavor, and good vapor production. I really like this tank, just wish I could see my juice.

Tobeco kayfun mini:
here are my initial thoughts, It arrived very quickly but that has to do with the seller, so cheers to them.
Understand that I do not have an original SvoeMesto to compare to, that being said here we go...

  • The fit and finish seem to be very good, meaning the threading feels nice, seals are tight, SS is clean, it feels like a quality piece.
  • Box is cheap, no instructions, no SvoeM. logos on these baby's.
  • No instuctions, I didn't need them, but considering you have to figure out O ring placment, airflow screw, (just thrown in the spare parts bag) ect. It would be nice to have something telling you what the parts are!
  • And as has already been stated, I will confirm, the clear tank section was poorly thought out and simply does not work as the bottom section to this atomizer! Were talking fractions of millimeters here, but its obviously critical with the mini. SvoeMesto understood this as the original with clear section is 1mm larger, I presume to make up for a smaller ID with plastic vs. metal. Seems ......ed that this wasn't tested before being mass produced, but enough about that.
  • Airflow is great, warm vape in normal mode, fairly loud while vaping (but not a whistle)
  • I have a .9 micro w/cotton 28g 5 or 6 wraps on a 2mm rivet, good flavor and vapor (Nicoticket's Doodle currently)
  • The positive block is severly close to the negative, you really need to tighten that positive 510 conn. and alighn that block when done with build ( mabey this is inherent to all kayfun mini's ?) can anyone confirm that?

I guess that's it. W:2c:ould I suggest this clone to my best friend... probably not, to many quirks, but hey Im vapin it right now and Im happy, happy, happy so who knows. :vapor: vape on people! hope this helps a little:2c:

I'll probably still buy the Tobeco, or maybe just another Ivogo, I can confirm the Ivogo wicks 8pg/92vg fine, I have a coffee juice that only has 8% flavor, rest is VG and no dry hits at all. I do wish it had the proper parts for just the tank, cap, and short chimney, sort of like nano mode. Maybe Hcigar, EHPRO, or someone else will pick up on the design, and give us a higher quality version.

Positive block is super close on my Ivogo as well, not sure if a sheet of paper would even fit between.

Question...

In your last pic, the packaging and everything one, the plastic tank seems frosted but when you describe it you used the word clear. Is the plastic tank section frosted or clear?

Clearance on the plastic tank is not the issue, as this, like all Kayfun style RBAs work with vacuum pulling the juice through the channels. I use 90/10 VG/PG with no problems, in a vertical coil setup

I got my tobeco clone today, and so far it seems to be working great. Mine is wicking fine with the clear tank... I've only used it for an hour or so, but it's working great so far. The only problem I had was that the little screws that hold the wire down are sort of rounded on the undersides of the heads. The wire slipped right out whenever I tried to wiggle it to break off the extra piece. So I wound up wrapping it around the screws 360 degrees before tightening. No problems after that, but I'm going to have to look for better screws at some point.

Yes the "clear" section is frosted actually.

So, after more time with my tobeco I'm still not having any issues with wicking with the clear tank. I wish I could offer some advice to people having problems with that, but I don't really know what I'm doing at this point. This is my first time using one of these. I just watched a video, and did what the guy said to do. Maybe there was something unusual about the way that guy does it though (?). I'll add the video below in case there's anything helpful in it. I think the relevant points are that I used a 3/32 bit to make the coil; I used a piece of cotton that was about 1/4 of the width of an unrolled cotton ball; I used a piece of cotton that was longer than I needed, fed that up through the smaller metal tube that goes directly around the coil, cut off any that stuck up out of that tube, then gently stuffed remaining cotton down into the spaces on each side, below the coil (being careful to not jam it down hard enough to block the little juice channels).

Sorry if I'm posting stuff that everyone already knows. Like I said, I don't know what's standard here, and thought I'd post it in case any bit of it helps.
