I own five IBTanked tanks. My subtank massively destroys them in flavour and production no matter the carto.

Dude, get a ST Mini. You dont need to mess around with cartos and all that. The ST Mini is plug and play. If you want, run it on the ProVari just get the 1.2 ohm heads. A carto tank? I dont think your going to enjoy it, all mine are shelfed. Theres much better/more reliable toppers. Again a kayfun you need to build and if your going to do that get the Lemo. I dont think you should build currently. Get a ST Mini, IPV Mini1 and two Samsungs. Should set you back around $120. Dont get a carto tank man. ST Mini, any RTA, Delta II even the Atlantis beat a carto tank in terms of flavour. Or just get a ST Mini and use the 1.2 ohm heads in your ProVari but I think a 30w device with the .5 ohm heads will make you say wow. While your grabbing your carto-tank why not get a 510 atty. JOKING.

my only issue is that i spent upwards of $250 for the provari, charger, batteries, longer endcap, etc.. then vaped for a couple weeks and quit for almost a year until last week i decided to give it a go.. now it seems my $250 was pointless, this thing has little resell value, id like to get the most out of it if i can. i was experiencing great flavor for a day or two with the nautilus mini, until i ran into these problems..

i am leaning in 3 directions at the moment:
buy a kfl+ clone or kayfun 3.1 clone and learn to rebuild through trial and error
buy an IBTanked carto and try it out
or buy a subtank and like you said, use the 1.2 ohm coil heads

update: i purchased an ipv2 mini 70w, a kanger subtank mini, and a couple of good samsung VTC batteries for the ipv2.
i also purchased 5 replacement coils for the nautilus as i have fixed my leaking issues, but the coils are producing little to no flavor/vapor.

i had purchased a protank 3 a few weeks ago and it didnt work on my provari, but i remembered that i had an adjustable airflow controller, so i put that on the bottom and am now vaping again until i recieve my coils and my other setup. i guess i will just make both work and have the best of both worlds!

while i learn to build coils i will use the stock 0.5 ohm coils that come with the subtank mini, and as a backup i have the nautilus and protank 3, so i am good to go (hopefully)

The problem with kayfun v4s on regulated variable devices is the resistance jumps. Streching the spring can fix this. My authentic does not have this problem. There is a spring update out that can fix it for 20bux. I would suggest a lemo the flavor is a little less than the kayfun but its a dream to build. Easier yet aspire Atlantis has prebuilt coils and has great vapor production. Boil new attys befor using. And quit those cigs. You experienced all of the pain of vaping stick with it that's the worst of it. Once you know what your doing rebuilding you will be much happier with your vape

Sweet!! Where did you buy the batteries. There isnt a Samsung VTC out lol so I want to be sure you got authentic samsung 25rs before you start vapeing at higher wattages. Whens the mini and IPV coming in? You excited!?

I still use my $159 Provari 2.0 every day.

Sounds like OP needs some hands on direction at a B&M store and suffer some trial and error. Quit buying more stuff. It all pretty much does the same thing. Until you figure out how to make one of them work, they will all be troublesome.

FWIW I'm using a KFL+ on a Provari v2. I last re-wicked it when I put in a new coil over two months ago. The last coil went nearly a year, wicks last up to 2-3 months depending on how close to perfect I get them fitted.

IMO OP is trying to find an exact simulation for cigarette smoke. It ain't gonna happen. It took me about six months to find a flavor and nic level that got me to about 90% as satisfying as real smoke. It just takes time and a little willpower to not miss that extra 10%. Keep trying different flavors and nic levels until you hit one that works for you. Vape shops with a sample bar are an excellent place to at least do a bunch of flavors without spending anything.

He got something that I am going to wager gives hime more satisfaction when it arrives. I dont get it? I get MORE satisfaction from my devices not 90%. Maybe if you used a more advanced nic delivery system you would to. Maybe not. I like vapeing more then smoking YMMV. Watch, I bet he is HAPPY pushing 25w into his ST Mini. I know theres old schoolers who feel lower wattage devices and higher ohm builds provide the same satisfaction and flavour. Im not one of them lol. Been at this for years and I am much happier now pushing big boy wattage then I ever was with ProVari, Provape 1, IBTanked, Natilus, Vamo blah blah. A high wattage device and a good topper is essential IMO. YMMV of course.

my orders should (hopefully) be in thursday! i got these batteries:Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh Battery - Flat Top

its not the flavor and nicotine level that is stopping me from vaping. its the unreliability from cheap replacement coils that ive been experiencing.. i think my last issue with the nautilus coil was that i went outside on lunch break at work and it was below 5 degrees outsite.. maybe that couldve effected it?

anyway i have went to the only B&M around here, and they were so inexperienced they did not know what a provari was, and kept trying to sell me eGo threaded tanks claiming they will fit every vaporizer available lol.. the only products they had were cheap clearomizers (around $4.00 each) and a bunch of stick batteries, and some terrible home-made juice

Well I use my ST Mini outside in the Canadian winters haha! The ST Mini coils are fantastic! Straight up organic cotton so the taste is great and I really dont think your going to have all the leaking problems you have previously had. Drip 1-4 DROPS of e liquid right into the ST Mini coil onto the cotton, fill the tank up, assemble it and do some dry pulls on it. Walk it up to 25w i.e start at 10 have a few puffs, go to 15 have a few puffs...I find that works great. Make sure its all screwed in tight and I think leaks will be a problem of the past. I am kind of confused though, I pointed you in the direction to get 100% authentic batteries for HALF the price they are listed for in that link and that site is not really known as a reputable site. Did you buy them from that link or are you just showing me the cells you got? Its not a big deal I just had hoped to help you save some bucks. If the vape is extremely harsh DO NOT FRET it may just be due to using the same mg of nic as before and now your getting a much better delivery system. I have relatives who vape in the U.S and if you need it I can have one of them send you some 3mg juice so you dont have to continue to break the bank all at once. I know the up front purchases can be daunting but once your set up all thats required is juice and even burning through juice like I do at Canadian juice prices it still MUCH cheaper then cigs.

i had forgotten about the link you posted and ordered those batteries and tank in a package with the ipv mini. ill know better next time! are these batteries that i purchased good enough?

i hope i do not have the leaking issues that ive experienced, but as of now i have 0 leaking issues with the nautilus! just extremely muted flavor because the coil is bad i believe. my new coils will be here thursday as well!

i will drop down to 6 mg nicotine mothers milk instead of 12 just to see if it is a little nicer vaping at 25w!

thank you for being so generous! but i dont like taking freebies and feel like a bum! is there any way possible that you could take a picture of where to drop the juice on the ST mini coils? i couldnt seem to find anything while searching

its going to show you on a piece of paper in the box where to drop the liquid but I will try to explain again. like all coils the ST coils have at the top of them an opening leading to the internal part (wick, coil blah blah blah) where you want to drop 1-4 DROPS of juice into so they hit the coil and saturate it. Its no biggie if you dont. If you have never used an atomizer known for flavor your going to be blown away like everyone is when they take that first toot from a good topper. I had some people on here who helped me out so much when I started so I just try to give back. I think you will find the drop in nic just fine and may even need to go down again but YMMV. I used to vape 18mg in a Kayfun now its 6mg in tanks and 3 in drippers. More and more I am using just the 3mg.

Those batteries are perfect! I just was trying to save you some coin but its no biggie, next time you will use illumn and save some dough! If you forget its not a problem but when you get your gear can you do another update in here and let everyone know how you like it. And again if its not a big deal can you just copy&paste that post into a PM to me. I try to come back to these threads but sometimes forget and I really want to know how you like it. I hope you LOVE it! Then your going to want MORE lol. More vaper, more flavor etc etc. Within a couple weeks of trying my first higher (I say "higher" cause even 25w isnt really "high") wattage setup I was dripping. You gotta take small steps but really IMO dripping is the purest form of flavor out there and its the only way I vape UNLESS I have to use a tank like running errands, on the ladder for work etc. We'll get ya going with RDAs to eventually when you want to step into that relm.

oh so drop them directly onto the coil? i was always under the impression to not drop liquid directly onto the coil. what about the holes on the side with the cotton showing? i hope i am blown away by flavor, its the only thing that keeps me from smoking! ill drop down to 6 for now and see how that works for me.

i will definitely do another update when i recieve it and get it put together.

i would eventually like to get into dripping so i can taste different flavors that i am dying to try (like five pawns - gambit, and bobas bounty), but dont want to fill a whole tank and ruin a coil by trying them! i will be trying to perfect my coil building before i buy a high quality dripper and go from there!

at the moment i have an iGo-L dripper, are those good to learn on? im pretty sure it was only $11.00

Just a couple drops to wet the cotton. The holes on the side are for wicking. You will see them change color cause there getting saturated in liquid some seconds after you drop a COUPLE drops down there onto the cotton. I never used that dripper. I think a Tugboat v2 is the EASIEST to build on and can be had for 10 bucks. Just hold off for a while though cause you'll need some tools and crap so just get the ST and get a feel for that then maybe a month or so latter step up into a RDA. You dont need to spend 100 on a quality dripper either. Clones of equal quality can be had for dirt cheap but again thats a ways off. Also you can buy pre made coils and just mount them yourself but its kind of a rip off cause restiance wire is cheap but it does make things a bit easier. This is all a ways off though in the journey, small steps. Bobas Bounty is craaazy. Five Pawns is sweet to. You got it good in the US, tons of premium juice companys and really good prices compared to Canada. I just bought enough premium juice for a year lol. It will only be used for dripping. I was in the US so I stocked up like crazy. Dripping does allow you to taste juices in a whole new way IME. I would never put a premium juice into a tank but I know some do. I find that if I were to say dripping gives me 100% of flavor which it does then the ST Mini is about 85%. The Natilus is less then 50%. All this is IMO and YMMV

okay so 2-4 drops directly onto the coil, got it! should i do any primer pulls? i worry about flooding the tank when doing that

i will read up on different drippers and things, and i still would like to get a kayfun for my provari, but that will wait until i can build coils good. id rather learn to build them myself than buy them pre-made. is there any harm in learning to build on the ST mini?

ive heard those 2 juices are amazing, and the flavor from the mini nautilus blew me away, i cant imagine more flavor than that! im excited!

Whip it on, then. My post wasn't a crack at people who vape as a hobby, and what I'm using today isn't the only thing I've ever tried or currently own. But when the OP complains about five different setups leaking and/or not working, maybe it's a user problem and not the devices. Nothing personal. We all learn somehow. Some folks get it right away, while others seem to endlessly struggle. Too bad his local B&M seems to be staffed by people that aren't very helpful. Seeing it in person tends to stick better than reading about it or just watching youtube videos.

I've vaped on a lot of really crude and crappy stuff in the last 4+ years, mostly represented by what was available when I started. There wasn't much that couldn't be made to work somewhat reliably. The payoff is that when you get the crappy stuff to work every time, you're gonna be a lot happier, and with a lot less buyers remorse, when you spend on the higher end gear.

well i recieved my ipv mini and subtank and i am impressed! the build quality of the subtank seems really nice. i primed the coil and filled the tank and am now vaping around 27 watts.

my only problem is i cant taste very much.. not at 10 watts, 15, 20, etc.. i think i need to let my taste buds fix themselves. i smoked my last cigarette about 2 hours ago so hopefully it gets better!!
