howdy! and welcome!

a lot of that is going to depend on:
1) what kind of coil are you using in the tank (using the kanger subtank mini with it, I am guessing?) - typically, the kit comes with a couple of coil options, specifics (ohm rating and type (Ni, Ti, etc)) should be etched on side of coil
2) running wattage mode or temp control mode - temp control should ONLY be used with temp control type coils that that device can support (Ni, Ti, SS and Nichrome I believe, but you'll want to check to make sure)
3) type of juice you are using - pg/ vg ratios (higher pg = more throat hit) and nic level

There are a whole slew of variable to take into account.
Nic mg/ml, pg/vg ratio, resistance, airflow, type of delivery device, mtl/direct lung inhale, wire&coil types, temp control & so on.

Best to start a a low power setting & gradually work your way up taking a vape of three on each setting until you find what you like.
If you get a hot, harsh, funky or burnt taste turn it down.

There is no 'best or ideal' power setting to use, it is a matter of personal preference.

Hi Everyone..
Newbie here. I just got my first vape yesterday and want to know what the ideal setting for a beginner is, on a kbox platinum in terms of watts and/or temperature? I'm finding the current setting of 30w is catching in my throat a bit.. :|

Turn it down.

I'm always quite surprised when people come here and say "I'm new and just bought such and such and I don't know what I'm doing". Who sold you this? Was it from an actual store? If it was they should be showing you how to use it. If you bought it online then it's more understandable.

Anyhoo... Like was said earlier, there are many variables involved but obviously the first thing you should be doing is turning it down to see if it helps.

Hi and welcome. As has been said, it depends on what coil you're using. But if it's catching in your throat, and you are in wattage mode, turn down the watts. If in Temp mode, turn down the temp. You do, however, have to be in the right mode for whichever coil you're using.
