I was just about to post a rant about Tenergy batteries because, often, when I swap them midday I load up fresh batteries that mysteriously don't work. Today - and this shows how dim I was previously - I tried the batteries in my other device and they worked.

Turns out there was some juice in the atty connector on the one that didn't fire and the device - smart little Silver Bullet - won't let me fire with a bad connection. Only takes a second to swab out with an alcohol wipe or q-tip but it makes all the difference. I keep both on my desk (why I didn't use them is for another discussion altogether!).

This is especially true when using adapters. Soak them in alcohol or wash in water hot enough to dissolve ejuice, blow water out of the opening and allow to dry overnight. They should be clean and dry before use. A mod builder told me this is especially true if you use stacked batteries with an adapter.

Don't forget to periodically clean the contacts on your battery chargers. They get dirty too and your batteries won't get as good a charge.

I use stacked batteries in a mod and keep my batteries in pairs. I label them with a sharpie 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, etc. I rotate the A/B batteries, changing which one goes in first. One battery gets discharged more when they're stacked, so rotating them evens out the service life. It also helps eliminate any safety issues created by using batteries with different capacities in series. This isn't really hard or complicated. When I take the batteries out of the mod, the first one out goes into the #1 slot on the charger and is then the first one in the mod. If you only change the order once in the process it takes care of itself. I use plastic cases to store the batteries both before and after charging and maintain the order when in the case. This is a lot harder to explain than it is to do.

This is excellent advice that everyone can use and proof that just a little care and maintenance will save a lot of time and frustration. Well done!
