Edit: if you are considering a KFL, or are having trouble with yours, read this entire thread. I ran into some leaking issues after this initial post and so many wonderful people came to my rescue. Let them be your rescue too...there are tips, photos, lots of problem solving advice. Even if you have a different cause of your issue than I did, chances are it's covered it. Thanks everyone...vape on!

Hello family, and yes, I did just say "Vapourney," my new word for vape journey  (probably won't stick...)

So I got in my EHPro KFL+ on Sat and was finally able to do my first build last night. The bulk of this post was actually a PM to Remie that I've decided to post here for my NT family because I'm just too blown away and ecstatic not to. Kinda long...

So I built it up...landed higher ohms than I meant too, 1.7, but figured I'd keep it and see how it works. I didn't clean it...luckily no nasty flavor though, but I'm gonna clean it probably tomorrow when I re-wick and switch juice

I put in Naki's. I used 28ga Kanthal A-1 wire, and organic cotton like I do on my Protanks. I was nervous my wick was a bit short the way I trimmed it, but went ahead with it. BTW - sooo much easier and funner than building a Protank, WORLDS APART!!!!!!!!

So then I filled it up...oh and I was terrified of stripping too...the chimney I couldn't figure out how to get down without putting a fair amount of pressure...still kinda concerned about that x.x couldn't get the clear plastic middle tank section to thread at all so I stuck with the stainless steel (BUMMED about this---though it looks infinitely cooler, I can't tell how much liquid is left. anyone know a trick to see how much liquid remains?)

I hit it, puffing the first few times like I always do with PTs before inhaling...like 5-6 times

Then I really hit it.

no break in period. not even the slightest hint of a gurgle, or too tight of a draw, no cotton flavor, absolutely nothing resembling break in period like I've gotten used to. It was a full on, powerful, perfect hit. and every hit since has been too! it thus is easier than the PT on every level, including the ability to easily get a "perfect" hit from the get-go.

Next thing that hit me was the fact that I was producing significantly larger clouds of vapor. this surprised me because rebuilt PT heads are supposed to be about the same vapor-wise. maybe it's because one of two things. 1) it's easier to do a good build so this may actually be the best build I've ever done, or 2) it's because it has a looser draw to it so I'm able to get more vapor with less inhale. To be honest I really LOVE this amount of vapor - I'm not a cloud chaser, but there is something surprisingly fulfilling about this vape. I really like the more airy draw from the kayfun and the style of the mouth piece over the PT. I love being able to take somewhat of a quick drag (maybe 3 seconds) and fill my mouth and lungs.

At first glance it also appears to be a better choice for going hiking with than the PT. seems more durable, less likely to leak. Just seems perfect so far in that sense.

flavor...I attribute this to the fact that my resistance is .4 higher than my 1.3 ohm PT coil currently hosting Naki's, but it seems to have SLIGHTLY less flavor. However, the vapor production, the feel of the vape (good throat hit but smooth?? does this make sense?), and the other aforementioned factors make me prefer this to the PT almost instantly. It reinforces the fact that I'm doing a decent job with the PTs and that when rebuilt they really do have great flavor! they also have great vapor although this is more by a long shot, at least with my particular builds right now.

i am having my morning vape with it right now. This is the single greatest vape I've ever had. when I do a great wick job on a PT2, I only prefer this over it because of the excellent vapor and smoothness of the hit. Because of the ease of building and wicking combined with the better draw and vapor, I definitely, hands down prefer my KFL+ to my PT2s. I wish instead of buying 3 PT2s I had bought more of these. Very tempted to order one more of these immediately since $30 is not much for this solid of a vape. I DONT like that I can't tell how much liquid is left, and I don't like that to re-wick I'll have to drain the juice. The only downsides so far. I knew I'd like the KFL but didn't expect it to blow me out of the water like this.

Luckily though I don't prefer it so much as to lose interest in my rebult PT2s. But, I see them taking a backseat nonetheless, especially since they're harder to rebuild. This was so much less effort for such a better vape. Now of course as I try other juices, maybe some of them I'll prefer in one or the other. Taste wise I prefer Naki's in the PT2 so far - again possibly because of my coil resistance. even though I'd love to lower this to 1.2 or 1.3, this is hitting SO good I'm hesitant to screw wth it and replace it right now, haha, know what I mean? :)

My plan is to vape this until it starts seeming empty-ish then or the wick needs replacing, then I'll clean it with soapy water, dry it and fill it with Banana Pudding to see if I do indeed get more of a pudding flavor. When that's gone...Wakonda!

Think I'm gonna go order a second one...if something happened to this, I'd be lost in vapeland :(

Thanks again to everyone who has helped me on my journey so far...now I'm officially into rebuildables. I think my longer term plan here is to get another one of these, next paycheck to also get another MVP2 so I've got two good batteries, and then a paycheck or 2 later, a REO and Reomizer. Think I will succeed with a REO if I can succeed with these :)

overall it seems a different experience to me...not comparable on every front. it's another beast!

Thank you for the write up! I want to try a kfl so bad! I keep hearing about the taste being better. I find that taste is better in my aero tank than in my pt's. I tried rebuilding but didn't like the taste of the cotton or anything about it? Also answered another question I had, will my vamo and mvp 2 handle a kfun...sounds like it will! :) Glad for your success!

Nice. Glad to hear it was easy for ya. They are so much easier than PT2's to rebuild. When you take it apart to clean it, try again with the plastic middle section. The threads are super fine and can be difficult to thread. You'll definitely have too exercise some patience on that lol. Just be careful not to cross thread it. You'll know if its not right. Once its threaded youll never have to take apart that entire middle section. I always unscrew it from the top cap and the bottom coil section, leaving the 3 pieces of the middle section intact. And try one less wrap next time you re-coil it and you should get around 1.4-1.5ohm. You should be getting better flavor than a PT2 but that can depend on the juice and build.
Next stop....RDA's/drippers :vapor:

Thank you my friend! GET ONE! if you want the link that was given to my for my purchase I'll PM it to you - got it off eBay for $30. Worth so much more!! No idea about Vamos but as long as your coil is above 1 0hm it will work more than fine on your MVP2 ;)

Oh that's awesome (only having to thread that once!) fantastic tip! and i guess with that in, tipping it will show when I'm getting too low, versus blind sight now x.x

I just swapped my PT2 and KFL both with Nakis...I think the flavor is outstanding on the KFL actually, maybe more of a rounded taste, maybe bringing outmore of the CLS? seems like less CB present - less caramel. Could even be because I mixed directly into the PT tank vs mixing into a bottle and letting it steep a couple days then using that in the KFL. could also be because it wasn't cleaned first.

Every time I think of trying a new tank I know I have to resist. I have become hooked on my GCD in my PT 1 and nothing measures up to the taste and tightness of draw and vapor hit even if it is less than it could be. Kinda like being fed a fancy 12 course French meal when all you want is a hamburger.

Tried a Mega kanger tank and was very sad as it was half of what I like out of GCD so went back to my PT1...

I'm tempted to just redo it right now...especially so it'll last me all day without rewicking then (been hitting it a lot haha). but I'll have to clean the base and coil to so maybe should air dry for a long time? oh and hey, I'm actually thinking it's more CLS coming through right now...which is really good with this mix now that it's grabbing me. I LOVE THIS THING! do you find that wicks last the same amount of time as in a PT2 or do they last longer?

You just made me hungry Meg! BTW - tried GCD a second time a couple nights ago, PT2 vs crappy iClear16. It. Was. So. Good!!! Not entirely my thing but now I more than understand why it is your ADV as well as that of so many others;)

Excellent write-up! I like your style dude, wow.

On the flavor front, slightly increasing the AFC will increase the flavor, gradually, until you find a balance between flavor and vapor. With the experience you are having you can easily achieve the same thing by removing a wrap or two!! Congrats on a great vape brother - enjoy it my friend!!!

Id redo it now if I were you. Rinse it all off in hot water and fill a bowl with fresh hot soapy dish water and let it sit for a few hours and then rinse it off. You dont have to let it dry for a long time but shake it out and dry it off good before you re-coil. My wicks last a few days but I change flavors alot but you should get a couple of tanks out of one wick. Coils will last a long time if you dry burn in between wick changes.

do i have to re coil? i just washed the coil...please say no, I'm fiending for my banana and don't have time to re coil today :(

No you dont have to re-coil if youre happy with the one thats on it now. Recheck the ohms to make sure it didnt change too much and you should be fine

omg the deed is done, again, flawlessly....perfect hit, full banana flavor...too soon to give taste differences I gotta go to work :D BUT WITH A FULLY LOADED KFL+ OF BANANA PUDDING, BABY! :2cool: thanks so much guys!!

Tracey - PM sent. Vape on ;)
QUICK edit - BP tastes much better, thats all i can say for now!

Saweeettt!! Did ya get the plastic tank on it yet? You can get nano kits for a lower profile too. PM me if you want the link. Or you can buy them in a nano version for the same price and save a few bucks. Dont confuse it with the mini, thats a slimmer version

I'll look more into the nano for my second one but it holds less right? I like that this thing can hold like 4 ml

Well I'm back because I went into the office to replace my fill-in (who is also my boss) and he said they need the computer so sent me back to my room LOL. I have the phone on me but otherwise I'm on ECF :p

Well I was wrong though this one wasn't flawless. I got a slight gurgle as I was putting it away - blew the liquid out while tipping it up and this seemed to fix it. Could this be from too many primer puffs? (I tend to clear the chamber with a no-fire hit after a big drag) and is it a sign I should rewick? also this wick isn't cracking and popping like the other one - sometimes in my PT i get the crackle and pop with a wick, sometimes I don't, not sure what's causing the difference or if it really matters much

I did get the plastic section on and now it's sweet 'cause I can see, although, it's hard to tell when it's actually full/prevent it from getting too full; any tips on when to stop filling?

and Mota I have a link you sent me previously for the nano but could you possibly send me the link you sent Remie for replacement parts? EDIT - Remie beat you to it  but it's for the nano I see
