thanks Snowdonia! I'll try these suggestions - it actually has continued leaking just a bit out those airholes, but not major at the moment. and crap - using BP in the plastic tank section right now...not a good idea X.X

Ive had BP in my KFL+ for awhile now and no tank issues

Ok good to go then..I'm gonna assemble, wet my wick and see what happens. If this is as solid as last night's i'll be super happy. using shorter wick tails this time

Do that and see how it works for ya. Wicking will be the thing that youll have to fiddle with the most. Thats why I never put too much juice in at first. When you pull off the chimney to change wick, the wick thats in there will usually move and get pulled up a little.

Snowdonia, oh my god! I hope you benefit from doing that somehow...you're sooo kind! That looks like mine so I'm certain that;s not the problem...thank you :)

now my tail ends are not folded down across the upper deck. they're short, just touching the side wall of the upper deck, lying straight down. hoping this works! my first was coming down and lying at a diagonal across it but not as much as my last leaky one

Nope no benefit. Just did it because I wish I had more help besides videos when I was learning to build a tank. I learned to build on a Taifun and I never got to be good at that one, ended up rehoming it. Kayfun is a lot easier but the learning curve it still there and I smashed into it headfirst. Good luck on your next build! If you still have wicking issues let me know and I'll send you a pic of mine.

I have ehpro...sandwiched between the metal in the top cap...hmm, so inside the chimney hole of the top cap, near the end that goes into the tank section, correct? or on the outside of the hole?
....I think I know what your asking...not 100% sure, but I just got this same exact KF too...the chimney goes inside that hole on with the oring (1) in-between the metal on the top cap and screwed down onto the tank section, creating a seal, to hold your juice...without that oring it'd lead through the top... With tightening...I tightened them pretty good. Not super dooper, but tight...(except when screwing it down onto my mod, in this case the MVP)..
I did my first build on this last night. I was shooting for a 1.5ohm, but it came out around 1.8ohms, which works better on the MVP anyway...I wasn't too sure how much cotton to use and went pretty light. Like snowdonia said, use your juice as an adhesive to suck it up against the deck wall. I watched Rip Trippers video on youtube for reference, and did the first coil build shown in the video...

Don't worry, I had the same reactions to a lot of the things you mentioned...example, the plastic middle piece was kinda funky to screw down, I had to use some force/steady hands...Good luck! Glad you're liking it! :vapor:

you are too amazing! I've got a new wick in now and I think I may have used *slightly* too little, BUT no leaking or anything ... so far. haven't vaped it enough to tell yet. slight gurgle first hit, gone now. not as much vapor as before. but i also tightened the air hole. Wakonda seems harsher than ... maybe anything I've hit to date vape wise. but, makes sense - Wakonda seems the harshest throat hit I've had period, and on this, makes sense it would be stronger. (I like it)

thanks man - appreciate all the input. I went off the same build from Rip Trippers that you linked...I love RT, so thorough in explaining every little thing he does.

Let me take a pic. BRB.

dont empty another tank though!! juice is precious! I've got a decent idea of what to go for and think I used too little cotton...my tail ends *MAY* be barely touching the base of the upper deck, and I'm gathering they need to fully touch it. they might be though x.x

Your welcome...sorry to hear your having a few quirks...I was crossing my fingers I used enough cotton to keep it from leaking...on the one side it was "slightly" shorter, so I took a tiny poof of cotton and sat it on the wall to cover more area/even out both sides...I have faith you'll get it soon...hopefully this time rather than next! ;)

Don't worry about my juice, I have 900mls of this flavor.

you're amazing...

that is definitely more cotton than I just used but it's the same style, ie hanging down to the side of the upper deck not angeled and folded across lying on the upper deck like RT video. so I think my style is ok maybe just need more cotton? looks like yours is thicker--wider--covering more of the wall than mine is.

now all that said, I cleared it like you told me, blowing through air hole upside down etc...ever since, SO FAR (jinx--it will leak as I hit send like last time), it's doing better, no leaking and in fact the vapor production resumed large clouds. The taste is incredible...Wakonda is awesome on this. if it leaks again I'll go for more what your wick looks like size wise and even post pics for critique.

*vape, vape* still ok little buddy...? :)

edit - what flavor? you must love it!

My cotton looks thin when I put it in but I fluff the ends. Good rule of thumb is don't twist to wick it but compress instead, it should be also be able to move back and forth without catching but not so loose that you could just yank it out. Glad to hear the tips may have worked. *fingers crossed*

hmm I don't really fluff up the ends so I'll start doing that too. maybe I should also compress it and try to use more cotton that way - haven't been twisting or compressing. sometimes the cotton is kind of transparent because I try to use so little. it does seem to be a good fit in the sense of not bunching up, not wiggling up and down in the coil, but sliding through with ease. at any rate at this moment it's still working GREAT like last night! on second thought maybe not as much vapor but that could be due to a different juice.

I want to thank you all again for helping...I'll never give up no matter how many issues and it's worth losing some juice to get this right. Honestly, Wakonda is ten times better than in the PT. it's head and shoulders above it. The same overall taste but it seems...better, not necessarily stronger, but maybe more coffee/cream than i've been getting lately on the PT. DEEEEEE-LICIOUS!!!!!!!!!! whatever it is, it's a keeper and my head is spinning

Snowdonia, Mota, Built4feel, everyone who has helped THANK YOU! I lucked out on my first wick job etc and I appreciate soooo much the help in getting back to that perfect tank :)

To anyone who's considering KFL+/rebuilding in general...*cough Tracey cough*...DO IT! BUY IT! BUILD IT! Have patience, ask questions on ECF, GO FOR IT! This is vape heaven and though it looks like I'm having lots of trouble (I am obviously) its not that bad and so worth the time and effort. Don't second guess your ability to do this...just do it :)
