Normal ego batteries are only 650 mah.

That is not accurate, Joyetech eGo batteries are widely available in 650, 900 and 1000 mah versions. The 1000 mah is also available in a passthru version (which the Kgo doesn't have). Also, the new eGo C Upgrade version batteries have an unregulated mode that is essentially the same as the Kgo. Finally, the eGo-C Twist model that is expected to be released in April has continuous variable voltage from 3.2 to 4.8 volts (which the kGo also doesn't have).

The higher voltage in the Kgo will allow more wattage and really helps when you want to use low resistant cartomizers as the normal ego can barely handle them well.

Also not accurate, as Boge LR cartos, EMDCCs, etc. are widely used on eGos. Indeed, Joyetech even makes LR attys for both the eGo-T and eGo-C models.

I've been an EGO user for 10 months now and just bought a KGO thinking it would be a step up, but to be honest I noticed no difference whatsoever. Sold the KGO to my sister and will stick with my EGO 1100 mah bats for now. Still looking for the perfect upgrade that allows use of my fave EMDCC cartos. Any suggestions???

Both the 5 volt GLV2 and the variable wattage Darwin both support the use of EMDCC's. I use EMDCC's on my Darwin regularly.

Good advice here from all responses. I have both kgo and ego batteries, all have 5-click on/off. Kgo and ego batteries are essentially the same thing. I believe Kgos come in one length (more length = longer life between charges) - 1100mah. Egos are available in several lengths - 650mah, 900mah, 1000 or 1100mah. The kgos do put out a little higher voltage.

I stand corrected, I see some vendors now have the kgos also in 650mah (shorter length). But the 1100s are the way to go.
Darkcityvapor.com has a great deal on kgo 1100 kits for $44.

No, they are not the same. The Kgo is a 3.7 volt PV that comes standard with an 1100 mAh battery. The eGo is a 3.4 volt PV that comes standard with a 650 mAh battery. The Kgo provides warmer vapor and longer battery life than the eGo.

I think it's a big reason why more people are choosing the Kgo and E-Power over the ego. It's just a better deal all around.

I believe it is accurate. The Kgo comes "standard" with an 1100 mAh battery. The ego's standard battery is 650 mAh. You have to pay "extra/more" to upgrade to a 900 or 1000 mAh battery on the eGo, which is only a smaller 3.4 volt battery. Why pay more for less??

I think the confusion arises because ego advertise theirs as 3.4v, whereas most others advertise 3.7v, but an unregulated li-ion battery when fully charged puts out 4.2v and as it becomes discharged the voltage drops until at 3.3 to 3.4v the protection circuit cuts in and switches the battery off, usually flashing the light to let you know it needs recharging, they are usually labelled 3.7v because that`s the middle of the voltage range, That`s why you notice a drop off in vapour too.

Just been on joytech`s website and their batteries are regulated at 3.3v so ignore everything i just posted, the kgo batt`s will put out higher voltage :facepalm::facepalm:
