Cartotanks use rubber gaskets called 0-rings or silicone grommets which hold the tank firmly onto the cartomizer. You can see what these look like in this demo/review of a popular tank tool by a well-known e-cig reviewer:

____

I recommend the inexpensive IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us! pyrex cartotanks for a first cartotank. You can purchase a complete tank setup for $25.

They now make an actual drip tip that works the same way that tool does, it has a hole in the middle so you can just leave it on and use it as any normal drip tip. I just ordered 2 of them from CCV.

The other thing I hear a lot is conflicting views on cartos vs wicked systems. This is in relation to taste. I hear some say the polyfill interferes with taste where as some say the wicking doesn't bring enough juice. Is there any true view on this, or opinion like other things?
I'm admittedly biased for cartotanks. I've compared the same juice in a cartotank and a viva nova tank, the cartotank won hands down. In fact, I've given all of my vivi nova tanks away to new vapors only because of their ease of filling. I've already given my theory of why the cartotanks allow for more flavor in a previous post here.

There are those vapors who claim that they can taste the "filler" in cartos, which imparts a disagreeable taste to them. They are in the minority. There are also vapors who can taste anything made from plastic, which would include clearomizers, vivi nova tanks, and polycarbonate-tubed cartotanks. They also would be in the minority.

Nice, thank you! I may try soon.

* First I think I have to find that perfect ejuice for all day vapes (if going with a bigger tank especially).

I recommend using a cartomizer in a cartotank. You can easily see the juice levels in the tank, which is a reservoir of e-liquid that continuously refills the cartomizer each time you take a vape. The cartomizers used in a cartotank needs to have holes in them in order for the juice in the tank to be able to reach the inside of the cartomizer. These "pre-punched" cartomizers are available everywhere.

I use cartotanks exclusively because in my experience they provide me with the best flavor over string-wicked clearomizers or vivi nova tanks. It makes sense that this is so. The only thing bringing the juice to the heating coil in clearomizers and vivi novas are 2-4 skinny string wicks - that's a very small surface area to wick juice.

On the other hand, the heating coil in a cartomizer is totally surrounded by the polyfill - a marked increase in surface area. More juice to the heaing coil results in more flavor. An advantage that a cartotank has over a cartomizer used solo is that it keeps the polyfill wet, so that if it is set up properly there will be no dry hits.

It takes 5 minutes to set up a cartotank, 1 minute to refill it. Depending upon the size of the tank, it can last 1-3 days of carefree vaping.
