There you go. I can probably talk you through it if you want. I can message you my phone number. We can go through it together. The video is pretty complete but there are a couple of other general changes you can make for it to look better. Go with the ethernet cable you'll have a much better experience and your using your 2 computers through WiFi should have noo effect on it cause it will give the signal to your SS first. If you decide to go wifi you will have to turn it on when you set up the box it comes by default off because they recommend ethernet. If your WiFi thingy is close enough to where your box is you'll have a much better experience if you do. I will check but I believe it comes with the ethernet cable and I know it comes with the HDMI. Are they going to have the airmouse in?

Once you get set up I can show you how to use Trakt which once you get the hang of it on your computer is a great way to find what you want to watch and really easy using your computer. Plus it remembers what you've watched which for me is great cause I can't remember a lot of times.

Also you'll find if you are anything like me that Exodus is the best addon there is but it also include 1 channel, Specto, Zen and Fanfilm is in the repo and super easy to add. They are all set up basically the same so if you become proficient with Exodus going to one of the others if need be is a one click process and you'll be to a familiar setup.

Also Real Debrid is easy to set up and you don't need it but for me it beats searching for a good stream. Plus it makes I believe it is Openload totally accessible instead of having to log in with it for a few hours of use and for I think is is 16 Euros for 6 months which is around $18 Its not bad. You can try it without for a while and see how you do with finding a good 1080 stream or even HD and if you are satisfied save you 3 buck a month.

    Okay, looks like an indoor would give me several local stations.

    Our local station just went to streaming. You may be able to bring it up on your phone/tablet/PC and send it to the tv.

    I'm going to be checking later, but if you get the Apps for the stations that you like, you may be able to get your shows the next day and just send that to the tv.

    Pat...I rarely use my laptop and my WiFi router is only about 10 ft. from my tv and no, they don't have any airmouses at this time...so I might just wait till i receive it...seems it'd make it easier to set up the SS with it?

    But...um..what is an ethernet cable? i don't think i have one of those...but I have a LOT of coax cables...maybe 30-40 ft.!

    I'll go to the FFpage and ask if it comes with an ethernet cable...

    Yep the longest I saw at best buy is 10' I think it comes with a shorter one so you might need to purchase one. LAN cable that is. They will work with wifi but I still believe the LAN is a much better route. Hows that Gary? That one that Gary showed you would be better and cheaper then best buy and you could get a 16' so no worries if it reaches. Thats a great deal and if you already have Prime you'll be all set. Probably would get there about the same time.

    If you had Trakt you would be surprised at how much you could use your laptop when your sitting around and find all the movies you would like to see. You could just search Elvis Presley it would bring up every movie he was ever in and any concerts that he did that were taped and you could add them to your Elvis List.

    Then when you go to Exodus you just go to Movies>My Movies>My Lists>Elvis List and they are all there and just go to them and it will bring up the streams you want. It doesn't cost a thing. You could even get it set up now it's easy and you could start making your personal lists then authorize it on the box when you get it and all your lists you made up will be there in Exodus, Specto and a couple others. But the ones you use it would be there.

    Hmmm I happen to notice that there are apps on google playstore that offer to do a fuller install for Kodi and other apps for auto-upgrading.

    Also, an official app for a kodi remote.

    Someday my Sony Trinitron analog tv will finally die...Great buy that lasted forever but is now biting me in the .... :)

    @r77r7r

    If you're needing to get a router, a dual band one would be the way to go.

    Agreed. Not only that, but higher end priced routers can 'separate' the signal streams between the two freq. bands, and some of them will even give each device it's own separate stream - not 'sharing' one signal between devices...

    Also, if you want a separate 'Guest Wifi' network that can't access your LAN, many of the mid-priced wifi routers have that these days... but look for one that will let you turn off SSID broadcast on the main network too, not only the guest. Seems to me a lot of the mgfs. got the 'hide SSID' feature backwards.
