Sorry meant to say it would go as low as 10mbps
I can only envy 10mbps.
Out here in the boonies, fastest I can get right now is 3mbps DSL.
By today's standards, I might as well still be on a 56kbps dial-up!!!

lolz, I think you're forgetting how slow those dial ups were. I remember we actually had isdn but my step-dad wouldn't let us use it so I was sitting there playing Ultima online on a dial up.I can only envy 10mbps.

No this connects from the modem to the box then the box hooks to the TV, get a long throw rug and put it over it. The HDMI that comes with it is about 5'. The box hooks to the TV with HDMI. One way or another the wire has to run from the modem to the box then from the box to the TV.Does this have to connect from the tv to the modem? If so, it won't work for me, as the modem is across the room from the tv and and there's no walls to run it along as the living room is open-ended on two sides.

a long throw rug won't work in my case...the open floor area goes from the front door clear thru the living room, dining room and kitchen....crap....
<heavy sigh...> Kay, pleeease just try da wifi first! All dis head-banging is pointless without trying what has worked for over a 100 million folk (self included)!!
Geeeze, seriously, talk 'bout paralysis thru analysis...
I've been on the SS Facebook a lot and when i posted that i bought one I received this message:
If you need assistance getting set up once you receive it, please feel free to contact us via email, and we can set up an appointment to login to your unit and show you around.

no, they don't have any airmouses at this time...so I might just wait till i receive it...seems it'd make it easier to set up the SS with it?
others are suggesting other options...I'm just learning all that i can and what's best for me
I could be wrong, but I think the message was from SS support. Please be very cautious about whom you let remote control your PC!!! Once they're in, they can do anything - and you'll never know it until it's too late. Like injecting spyware, keyloggers, ransomware, etc. into your system.
there! Not often that I see a product with such great reviews. No one has mentioned power line adapters? Like these: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Powe...541&sr=8-2&keywords=tp+link+powerline+adapter
Mine came with two cat cables, so nothing extra to buy. Plug one in by your router, and one in by your Kodi box. Instant lan. No stringing cables everywhere.
I probably would have been fine with just wifi, but wanted to be sure. Works great.
I agree although a cable is better a lot just use Wifi. Just remember to tell them when they are setting it up so they remember to turn on the Wifi. Default is off. With that kind of speed you should be fine. The also sell some boxes that work by plugging them into you existing electric connection and using your power wires to get to the box if you have any problems that people swear by especially if they are on the same circuit. If you have problems you should be good. If you don't have your 2 computers running at the same time it will help your bandwidth but you have great speed at 54Mbps. The people that have had problems have like 5 other things using it at the same time.<heavy sigh...> Kay, pleeease just try da wifi first! Yep that is what I was talking about should have caught up. They are supposed to work real well so if you run into streaming problems this is the route you can go to bypass that.No one has mentioned power line adapters? They don't need access to your computer only your box. It comes with an app just for that purpose. These guys you can trust. And the only ones who can do it are the SS or Elite techs not just someone on the group. Please be very cautious about whom you let remote control your PC!!! They work great I love mine they have a keyboard on the back and you just turn the pointer off and works as an excellent remote. You can also use a wireless keyboard and mouse combo but for me this is just right. Once you get the hang of how it works it is excellent. With this box you don't need the keyboard very often but it is there if you need it.Why Are You Buying that Air Mouse? Seriously, Don't Do It.
It is easier because of the keyboard and the availability of a mouse that moves the pointer around on the tv by just moving the remote. The Logitech k400 also works but for me take up too much room and the reason to get this one is that it will also turn the box on and aff. The others won't. They are programmed for the particualar box you have whichi is not available on otheres for $20 well worth it if you don't want another keyboard laying around. I mainly use it for the shortcut keys like z for zoom t for turning subtitles on an off or if you don't have Trakt searching for a movie or show.Just curious, but how is it easier to set up the SS with an air mouse?

It doesn't show the company that made it I'm sure it is made in China but it is set up for this particular box. I also know there is another that looks exactly the same on Amazon and they will work for everything except turning the box on or off. They are $20. The only markings on it say SkystreamX and I threw the box away that it came in. Here is the one exactly like it but doesn't turn the box off and on and they said there is no way to program it so it does.https://www.amazon.com/LESHP-Wirele...r=8-3&keywords=air+mouse+remote+with+keyboardBut specifically, what is it you're talking about Pat? like brand, model?
IOW - what company makes it?
A search for 'air mouse' didn't turn up anything specific - like potential brands or models called 'the air mouse'?
Does the label on yours say "Air Mouse"? What company makes it? Is there a model # on it?
And BTW... if you don't mind me asking - how much did it cost?
