Ah but legal as in yer not downloading it. That's the gray area. If you dl it you're copying it. Watching it... they haven't figgered out how to legally stop that.
Yet!!!
Depends how technical they want to go with it, from a purely 1's and 0's standpoint, it's no different from their pov than torrenting with seeding turned off. technically, by the time the whole thing has buffered, at that point you have downloaded a full copy of whatever your watching, over the course of you watching it.

What makes me paranoid is it only takes one case to set the precedent for these kinds of things, and judges don't always make the best, most unbiased decisions.

Look at Napster for example, just a simple file-sharing program, but gets shut down bc of the way people are using it. Tbh I see this happening to kodi as well, with how popular it's become they will have to do something, probably eventually block a list of addons like Exodus, specto etc. is what theyll be forced into, to save it as a media player.

There's only so long they can sit on their hands and say "hey, it's not our fault what people do with it" when they know about and can deny use of the specific addons people are using.

Eh? You can get 17.1 now, it's very stable. it's even available in the windows play store.
You can but SS doesn't use it yet they said when they can get it working as well as 16.1 they will put out an update so if you put it on you would lose the support. That is the biggest thing why SS is more expensive ask Kay. So I will stick with 16.1 till SS makes a move to 17.

I have only seen them sue or prosecute people who make stuff available. I.e. serve it. That's what got Napster and torrent, the clients were serving as well.

Stick to download and view and you should be OK.

There isnt enough payback for the DCMA to go after simple viewers.

Her box is on 16.1 not 17 yet.

Pray tell da diff!

As to 'viewing content' via Kodi/Exodus/et al, as long as a streamer uses a VPN and doesn't use a 'tracker' $ervice, where's da trail/vunerability?

It's da streaming sources dat are da most legally vulnerable.

As to downloading, dere are more dan several ways to do so 'covertly'. Since I have no need (thanx to Kodi) nor desire (unlined handcuffs are not my bag) to do so, I'll continue to enjoy what we have access to 'til I see US sources get da 'cuffs' latched.

Check out what's occurring in da UK re arrests...

Bettin' dat other 'sources' will rise to da occasion (i.e., did anyone check out da YT hints?) Will go as far as to suggest dat it will be our internet providers dat will 'wed' wid da commercial interests (TV networks/Hollywood studios/ect.) and throttle access. Several ISPs have already launched their restrictive policies.

Your're not watching that crazy guy on YT are you Iffy? This is a free country as us vapers know well. So if you use a VPN how is it that your ISP doesn't know what you are doing. It's ok for the govt to spy on us not legal but done. If you run your box through a VPN what does your ISP know. They're going to F you out of your money one way or another. How much speed do you lose using a VPN and can you just use it on your box or do you have to run all you internet through it?

Do they really think that if you can't stream more people are going to the movie at $25 a pop. Also if you rent movies from something like Red Box how is that not doing the same thing. Do they give the companies a few cents everytime they rent a movie. Why doesn't this country worry more about homeless vets, or homeless people in general people starving in this country or not getting enough money to afford the Rx's. I just don't get it. This kinda thing really pisses me off. We's not free we's espensive. Another thing I don't get is why it would be considered illegal to watch old TV programs that aren't available anywhere but Kodi. Why does anyone care.

Depend on a lot of things, with a good vpn like pia it's not going to be restrictive enough to make a noticeable difference.

If I pick locations for fastest speed and I'm using the choopa one in new jersey, and a speed rest server in new york, I got 20 ms ping, 38.48mbps down 41.07mbps up. But I'm usually using a Mexican IP bc Mexico don't give a....

I see PC Mag top rated 3 are Nord, Private Internet Access, and Keep Solid VPN Unlimited. Is it legal for ISP's to monitor use for businesses as well as residential account. Now you got me thinking and you guys know how that is.
I have used most of these and PIA would be my recommendation
