That much automated makes me paranoid. Not quite... Automation has just been a hobby for about 20 years, ever since the early X-10 days.

Its kind of cool though, at 5:45am the lights in the bedroom come on at 30%, then the lights in the hallway and office come on at 40%, then the Espresso machine starts heating. My alarm clock is set for 6am, most of the time the lights wake me up gently before then, and hot coffee is only a grind and tamp away. That much automated makes me paranoid.
Yeah but if someone hacks your wifi theyve got your whole house, do you have cameras? Its kind of cool though, at 5:45am the lights in the bedroom come on at 30%, then the lights in the hallway and office come on at 40%, then the Espresso machine starts heating. If I set the Occupancy status to "away", and motion is detected in any two adjacent rooms in succession, I get an email.
If I say "Alexa, PANIC" then every light in the house comes on and 110db siren goes off.
If I forget to turn the espresso machine off, my house will do it for me after one hour.
Oh, and I can can control any of it from my phone anywhere. Comes in handy if I want to turn the AC before I get home. I havent done any "geo-fencing" yet, but I am considering it. One thermostat setting if I am more than 30 miles from the house, and another setting if I am close to home.
Nope, no cameras. Nothing is wifi, but I do have a lot of ZWave which does have its own security concerns. I have not seen any Zwave exploits yet that opened up the IP network though, but a malacious entity could conceivably control certain devices. Thats the main reason I never automated the doorlocks.Yeah but if someone hacks your wifi theyve got your whole house, do you have cameras?

I haven't tried it lately, we've seen just about everything so we are giving it a rest and using Netflix for a while.Anyone had trouble with RD sources lately? I've got the same settings as usual in url resolver.
Yeah my gf is mostly the one who uses it, between school and work I don't have much time and also I'm ADD so I get distracted & rewind a lot or I get bored and try to fast forward to just find out what happened at the end, which then causes my gf to tell me to go play a vidya game or something. I literally tried to watch the first episode of the Americans like 14 times bc everyone told me it was good... But I did notice lately the RD sources aren't working.I haven't tried it lately, we've seen just about everything so we are giving it a rest and using Netflix for a while.
