Wondering if I am doing something wrong, or maybe don't have it set correctly.

Have the kicklet on my p+650 and set to around 9w
with a 1.5 atty

i get about 2 hours usage before having to swap out a battery due to the kick cutting out
a fresh battery fixed that with no issue

removing the kick, I can still get another couple hours of great vaping with the same battery

shouldn't the kick setup last a little longer?
Am kind of moving away from the kick since if I am going to use the big baton while sitting out, I would like it to last :)

thx

What type and brand of battery are you using? I have a kiklet incoming and bought some of the Panasonic hybrids. I also have a couple aw imr 18650s. I know the kick does strain battery but an 18650 imr should last a bit longer than 2 hours. Are we talking 2 hours of vaping or 2 hours after you put the battery in? An 18490 should give a good 4 hours of vaping if I'm thinking right. The kick shuts off at a certain voltage but doesn't mean the battery is dead. It's just too low for the kick to do its job I assume.

A Kick with a 18650 battery lasting only 2 hours? It should last you all day with no problems...
It should, but even with the Kiklet I can have similar issues.

On the P+ I think I've narrowed down the culprit to almost always being in the lower button assembly. Whether it's dirt, oxidation, loose screw, whatever. In fact, I've been experimenting with the spring specifically as the source.

I'm not going to suggest anyone try this because if you weren't careful I think you could short it out, but for awhile I tried this and it seemed to help:

What that is is I took a small piece of silver no-resistance wire and looped it around the top of the spring and twisted it. It hangs down in the interior of the spring but can't touch the post (if you're lucky). My theory here was that the spring needed a little help making a good contact with the rim inside the body's lower switch assembly, and it did indeed seem to help. If anybody wants to try something similar just be careful.

Barring that make sure your switch, button, horns, spring, lower body, are clean as clean can be.

I am using the AW IMR 18650s, and the batteries last a long time, just not with the kick as part of the equation.
and that is a good 2 hours of vaping, maybe a little longer, but not much.

I know the kick cuts out at a certain voltage drop, but I still expected to get longer than that.
which is why i thought that i had it set too high, but i figured a 9w setting should be fine. a 1.5 at 3.7 puts out around 9w, so the kick wouldnt have to pull much extra power

Two questions, how old are your batteries? Imr's loose their umph faster the more cycles they've been through. Second, how old is your kick? Older Kicks shutoff at 3.3 volts loaded, kicks since the last batch I sold now draw down to 3.1 loaded as i understand it. Giving you more vape time.

batteries were ordered 9/11/12, kick and kicklet were ordered on Oct 31 (still have your receipts :)

i think i have a third battery that i got a year or so ago, but I went through 2 during a 4-5 hour period last night... the third one i put in an hour before bed...

this morning, it only lasted 30 mins or so. after i removed the kick though, it still put out clouds of vapor, was working great

I think your Kick is deffective.. There is no way you can drain 2 18650 batteries in a 4-5 hour span.. Ive been using my Provari mini with an AW 1100 mah 18490 battery/ 3.0 ohm HH357 atty @ 5.5 volts- that setup will last me 8-10 hours before it shuts down... My full size Provari using a 18650 battery will last from one morning well into the next morning. I dont like to bring up Provaris in this forum but they give a good reference when it comes to battery life.

That is the conclusion that I am getting...
It happened again last night... put in a fresh battery right before bed, probably vaped an hour or so while I played games on the phone. woke up around midnight, and the device was cutting out on me. Removed the kicklet, and everything worked great again. still got a couple hours out of the 650 before I had to leave for work. sure it would have lasted longer, but was time to switch devices

After 3 years of vaping (got my 510 in Jan 2010), I really am going back to basics. I really have gravitated towards mechanical mods in general, and the Precise plus line specifically. Because they just work.. nothing tricky to fiddle with. I like to just be able to pick up the device and know that i can vape it. (with the exception of having atties die on me)

I havent had a lot of luck with tanks or other accessories that sound like a great idea at the time. I had picked up a stainless steel juice container that looks nice, but leaks all over, which makes it useless. No way i will put it in my bag

I love the taste of dripping, and the only accessory that I keep coming back to is the vapemate, as it really ups the convenience factor without diminishing the taste.

my most used devices (the P+16, and P+500) both have vapemates attached. just so i can have one thing that sits in my pocket that I can grab.. no fiddling with juice bottles. the P+10 and P+650 are mostly for dripping while i am at my desk or playing video games. Though still use my epipe while sitting in my chair with a book as it kinda looks cool (or nerdy if you talk to my wife) :)
