i just registered and ive been looking and researching for a while now and i believe I'm going to start with the volt after everything i have read on here... was going to get a V2 glad i found this forum lol i saw a lot of those on here so add me to the list.. one of the things i was wondering is the cartomizers... is their a vendor that only sells them? and where could i get them in bulk (10-20 total), i figured starting out that would be the easiest route to go, plan on filling my own eventually due to the cost savings, ive noticed on most vendors it pretty much looks close to the same expense as smoking minus the tar and all the junk that's in analog cigs.. but then again i dont know how long one will last me but any comments questions or concerns? is filling or making your own carts easier than it sounds? yay or nay on the volt? order from their site or try and find a retailer? i have looked around on this forum for a while and haven't been able to answer my questions that way.. so i thought i would join up and check it out.. im currently using a throw away vaporx whatever that is i couldn't even find it on Google lol, how will that compare to the volt?

The Volt is a well performing ecig for it's size and it's priced reasonably. Depending on how much you smoked, you might want to pick up additional batteries for backups. vaping is expensive at first while you are finding your sweet spot, but it does taper off and becomes much less expensive than smoking.

I'd pick up some blank cartomizers as well. There are a lot of great eliquid vendors around and refilling is really simple. Try small sample bottles to begin with until you know if you like a flavor and feel free to ask as many questions as you need to :)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on making the switch.

the two disposable crappy ones ive used both lasted around 24 hours, can i expect the same kind of performance from a cartomizer and the volt? will the volt be better? what company or vendor do people suggest for juice and cartomizers to start off with, or buy a few samples from all and see what happens? any essential gear i should get? i was planning on getting the Volt - Pro Starter Kit and probably toss in a wall or usb charger.

~ edit ~
im a menthol smoker any suggestions on the best or closest thing to menthol?

I can't help much with the menthol as I'm not a fan. However, I did get a bottle of Halo TruePure in a juice lot I picked up from the classified and I'm actually enjoying it.

As for the Volt, I picked one up recently to try it as it has gotten so many rave reviews. I hadn't used a slim ecig in a couple of years because they just couldn't give me the oomph I needed. However, I am pretty blown away by the performance and find myself reaching for it more often. I have a couple of mods, a bunch of Ego set ups, etc and the Volt has been just as satisfying to me.

Prior to trying it, I wouldn't have recommended many slim ecigs out there because in the past they were pretty weak, but if you like the smaller size, this is the one I'd go for.

If you were a heavy smoker, you might want to consider the 78mm batts, extra batts, passthru, or the Volt Maxx (ego style) battery just to make sure you have backups.

Are there any brick & mortars near you? If so, visit them and test what they have. For a new person most would recommend a Kgo kit. Some menthol flavored e-juice is spearmint/peppermint. Not always menthol. I like 2 vendors menthol. Rocky Mountain Vapors & Carolina Crush from IVape.net. Have a look at the ECF's forum suppliers. They are always a good bet. Glad your here!

Most of the traditional 808's have a standard vertical coil design. The difference with the Volt is that their cartomizers have a horizontal coil that is at the bottom. The threading is the same, but the performance is much better in my option. It was an 808 model that got me off the cigs entirely, but didn't hold my attention very long so I was skeptical when trying the Volts, but they really impressed me.

Hello guys, I am exactly like our friend SonicSound, I tried the blu, mistic and finally the volt, I used to be a heavy smoker and these e cigs were not totally satisfying, so I decided to upgrade and now I am looking into buying either the ego c or the go go, I am leaning towards the go go and I was hoping for some advices in this regards, also, if I get the go go, can I use any e liquid supplier like Johnson Creek Smoke Juice? can I find something that taste like the cherry crush (it is an exclusive liquid to blu)?

My husband and I got our Volt kits 2 weeks ago, and we're both very happy with them! I'm not sure how it is with other people, but we got prefilled cartos with the kits and ordered an extra box of blank cartos (5) each, and haven't had any of the blanks that we've been filling bite the dust yet. Because Volt are not disposable, you'll get a LOT more than 24 hours out of a cart! I calculate that we'll have gone from spending $2-300/month on analogs to about $30 total. That's supplies for 2 people! My advice is to get a kit, an extra box of blank cartos, an extra usb power adapter and charger, a samples of juices from several vendors (in several strengths, ranging from 12mg on up).

As to what flavors to try - I'd say try a lot of different flavors. You can get sample packs so you can try a bunch of different ones without investing in 30mL of a flavor you might end up despising. I was a menthol smoker, and I thought I'd like menthol/tobacco flavors, but I've found that I like coffee and sweet flavors. My current favorite is strawberry cheesecake (and if you'd asked me if I'd like that one I would have asked if you were on drugs!).

HTH!

Welcome SonicSound (and you too, Genelman). Glad to have you both here. Sonciman, if you want to build up your posting numbers (not that you are but it will happen much faster) then try not to post right after your own posts - they don't count. If you can wait a biit (often hard to do) then reply to another post, it will count toward your status.

Well first of all, Congratulations! Second of all, the Volt sounds like a great PV! But I will tell you this upfront, lessons learned are through experience and trying out all those different things. But you've chose a great PV! and as far as all the rest such as the Cartomizer/Atomizer and blah lol. Pick up a little of each type of attachment, unless you are struck on Cartomizers (which are great) and really easy to maintain and fill. Usually as simple as dropping 10-15 drops into your filler in the Carto, and your good to go for a while.

NOw for they're life status....Carto's can claim to last weeks or months or whatever have you. It really comes down to a bunch of thing....Juice, voltrage, how you use them etc. It is possible to clean them to extend the life of each Carto, but for the price on them, it is much more hassle free to order 10 more every couple months or so.

And to cover all of your angles, the price.....yes it is quite an investment to get yourself all started up, but maintaining your new Habit is very cheap, and cost efficient. (that is once you know what you like)
I used to smoke 2 packs a day, which was roughly $20/day. And an unheard amount of roughly $600/month. NOw I went a little crazy with my (getting started) and purchased a ProVari as well as a year supply of juice and accessories. I ended up spending about $900 in 20 minutes...But I will be breaking even in 2 weeks...lmao so funny. It is amazing, even when you feel like your spending your second mortgage on Vaping Gear....IT is almost ALWAYS still less than you spent on cigarettes!

BLah, I am done best of luck to you!!
