Ok, so after going to New Orleans many times, and tasting the King Cake there, I would LOVE to make a juice that taste similar. Smokecignals makes a King Cake Liquid that is superb, and I wanna try to duplicate it as money is tight. If I can't get a recipe I guess I will have to just order some when my employment rolls around next week. Still, would love to be able to make jugs of this goodness! Thanks!:)

King Cake is great. My boss is from NO and gets us one every Mardi Gras. I usually get the baby. Probably because I eat the most.

How this didn't occur to me, no idea. Once you said baby, it hit me. We have something similar...Rosca de Reyes...translation...king's ring, i.e. king's cake. Over here, whoever gets the baby has to cook or do the dishes. Weird fn traditions. I don't partake anymore.

Yeah, I went to NO for the last two years in a row for a conference/missions trip. (Don't worry, we wasn't holding up signs with bullhorns yelling at people to repent, lol) Anyhow, last year we got there a day early and stayed with a professor. (Im in Bible college) I went to the mall near our hotel and in a tobacco/pipe shop they had a bunch of smokecignals juice on display. I picked a few up and was really delighted. I contacted the owner after finding out they make a king cake juice, and asked him how it compares to the real thing. He said it was his best seller. I just dripped my last 8 drops of my 30 ml bottle, and want to cry, lol. Soooo good and authentic.

To anyone who hasn't ever checked out smokecignals, do yourself a favor and visit the site. You will not be disappointed in the dessert flavors they have. King Cake is spectacular! http://www.smokecignals.com/MANS_King_Cake_E_liquid_p/mans-king.htm

Anyhow, any tips on how to make something similar?

Their website looks like they're using The Flavor Apprentice and Flavor West flavorings. I've never had their stuff, but if you're looking to duplicate this King Cake, I'd point you to FW's Tres Leches as the very likely main ingredient. It's a sweet, creamy cake flavor all by itself, and it blends especially well with lemon. If you're sensing nutmeg flavor, that's TFA Holiday Spice. If cinnamon, I'd use TFA's Cinnamon Spice.

edit: just an added note that Tres Leches probably contains 'custard notes', so investigate if that's a concern

I have made some juice for my son while he was stuck in Texas in the oilfield. We are from Louisiana and know very well what king cake is supposed to taste like. I had made some cherry cola with some other flavors mixed in trying to make a totally different flavor than king cake. I sent it to him and the first thing out of his mouth was this tastes like king cake. I'm still trying to find the recipe I made that from. That was before I was using e juice me up and saving recipes. I know I wrote it on something, I just can't seem to find it now.

Anyhow, any tips on how to make something similar?

I ordered a bottle after reading this recommendation and I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed. It has a sort of dry, bready, "finished product" cake smell in the bottle, which is a good thing. Most cakes I've tried smelled more like creamy batter than dry bready cake.

I let it steep for a week and a half and I'm now vaping it on a freshly wrapped 1.7 micro coil at 3.7 volts. I was hoping the taste would be similar to the smell, but it's not the case. It has that creamy batter taste I talked about earlier, which is very easy to clone. Any vendors cake batter would do tbh, but don't add sweetener and be careful about the %'s. Example recipe off the top of my head -

Capella Cake Batter 4%
Flavor West Yellow Cake 4%
DIYFS Pound Cake 2%
Capella French Vanilla V2 3%
TFA Dulce De Leche 2%

Taste is subjective, so I'm sure many of you will disagree with my assessment. I've mixed up dozens of cake flavors over the 18 months that I've been DIYing, and I thought that this eliquid would trump them all. It's a good juice that isn't over powering or overly sweet, but it's nothing special imho.
