That doesn't sound like much fun. My work is crazy busy and I'm trying to get things caught up before I take vacation next week. I might not be posting much next week. I don't think my sister has wifi at her house and for some reason tapatalk won't work on my phone. I think it's just too old. You go ahead and keep the throne for now since you had a rough day. I'll have a seat in the waiting room.

That's the problem with vacations. You have to work twice as hard before you leave so your to tired to enjoy it then once your back it takes weeks to get caught up. Enjoy your vacation though. I will keep the chair warm while your gone

For once, someone that actually gets it. Every time I take vacation it's two weeks of busting my .... and then more when I get back. No one covers my work while I'm gone so it piles up.

Yep that's why I rarely go on vacation. Just not worth all the hassle

My wife is after me every year to take some big week long vacation and I usually enjoy myself when gone but like you said, it's a big hassle before and after. I would rather take a day or two here and there and that way things don't get too backed up on me.

Yep that's what I do. When the kids were younger we always got season passes to Disneyland. She insisted I go each year for 5 days then would get so mad at me because I would end up on my cell phone all day putting out fires on the jobs. Tried to explain that just because I'm out of town doesn't mean the company shuts down for a week. You really haven't lived till your trying to explain to an engineer what you need to do while on the log ride

That's really funny! On top of the work stuff, it also gets expensive when you go to pay for four people to fly somewhere and then pay for lodgings and expenses.

That's true. Luckily Disneyland is only 6 hours away. We always just drove

Oh, that's right. I forgot you were in CA. We flew with the kids to DisneyWorld several years ago. We spent eight days and if I remember correctly the bill was over 4K. We drove to Myrtle Beach once to meet friends. They were members in some vacation club and got us the condo really cheap. At the time we couldn't afford to fly so the four of us drove for two days each way. I did have a really good time while we were there though. Next week's trip to visit family is about 11 hours each way.

yeah the season passes for disneyland ran about 375 each when we were buying them. worked out pretty good.because the wife and kids would go every 3-4 monthes. I only had to go once a year. 11 hours each way is still a lot of driving

It is but we need a car while there. My sister and dad live about an hour and a half away from each other. I hate to see what it would cost for the four of us to fly and then rent a car for the week.

Yeah that could get pricy also. Guess it depends what gas runs where you are. I'm paying 4.20 a gallon for diesel here right now so southwest normally looks pretty good for flights

I'm not sure about diesel but I paid 3.58 for unleaded a couple days ago. One other thing is you have to get to the airport early, have a layover, and then rent a car. By the time I did all that I can just about be there. I think my wife's new car is supposed to get around 25 miles to the gallon on highway so gas shouldn't be too bad.

That's not bad. My truck only gets 14 mpg because I can't keep my foot out of it. If I keep it under 60 mph though I get about 19-20

Heck, my jeep only averages about 18. I'd rather drive something with a little horsepower than an economy car that can barely maintain its speed on a slight incline.

Lol. Yeah my wife's jeep grand Cherokee gets about 16-18. Has the 4.0 liter straight 6. Great motor. They last forever

Mine is a jeep liberty jet edition. I've got a little bit of a heavy foot. I think mine is a 3.5L V6. It's the same engine that I had in my 02 liberty before I got this one.

Yeah they quit putting the straight 6 in them in 2001 if I remember right. Guess it didn't need enough repairs. Her first grand Cherokee had over 500 thousand miles on it when I finally sold it to one of the crew to drive. It's been at least 10 years and its still going strong

From what the service manager told me, the first batch of liberty jeeps had almost no repairs.
