Robin, I can't believe they changed your record. I had to renew my life insurance a while back and even though I don't smoke cigarettes, they consider all tobacco usage as the same and my premium went up quite a bit. I was trying to be honest by telling them that I used ecigs and snus thinking that it is way less harmful but they don't think of it like that.

So for my life insurance State Farm had a "Preferred Smoker" class.
Based on blood test results and telling them that, at the time, I smoked a pipe but no cigs I got a premium that was higher then a non-smoker but less then a smoker.

That's funny OTD because State Farm is who I had my old policy with and didn't mention anything like that when I got tested for renewal. I ended up going with another company that was $20 cheaper a month for the same amount of coverage.
