Bought another bike. Tires had a lot of wear which would of been $50-$70, bearings might have been $20, bike shop fees $30 to $50. I'm going to keep the rims and tires from this old bike as spares, plus I can move my seat and speedometer to the new bike.

Went to wally world and bought one. Brought it home and found out it had a major factory defect on the bearing housing where the pedals are. Took it back, then drove another 15 miles away to another Wally to get the bike because the first one didn't have another.

    Somewhere between here and there
Last summer I was up to 3-3.5 miles on my runs but have slacked back off and have only been doing 1-1.5 miles two or three times a week. I had to run five days a week to get up to the 3+ mile mark. I enjoy the thinking time when I'm running. I'm sure you do too biking.

Two years ago I was doing 14 miles a day here in town, while dodging traffic. Last year wasn't a good year for me, this year I'm only doing 8 to 9 miles a day. I may try and get back up to 14 by next month. I do enjoy the quiet thinking time when on the bike. When the last one broke I decided it was something I wasn't going to go without. I'm not a runner. The new bike is lighter than the last one, seems to ride smoother, faster.

I had never run any distance to speak of until I went in the army. We ran a lot in there. I would run occasionally after I got out but nothing consistent. I've only been on some sort of routine for five or six years now. The past two years my youngest daughter ran cross country and I didn't want her out training on her own so I ran with her. Yes I'm the over protective dad.
