I've had one for about a year and a half that still works. Literally. Even made a demo vid on YouTube if you want to check it out: YouTube - CSquaredVids's Channel

Disclaimer: yes, I do work for Eastmall. I just started in September of this year though and the actual unit I was using in the video was purchased in March, 2009. Vapor production in the video isn't as great as it can be, not just because the batteries are so old (which probably did have something to do with it), but also because all I had left was 6+ month old used (i.e. worn out) cartos. I do plan to make a new video about this product in the near future.

This is an excellent pv for driving and any other hands free needs,

it is an auto and so of course you dont need to worry about pressing any buttons,
it has a built in suck activated switch, you just draw on it and it is puff activated,

the cartoz are good with it,
they last about 3 hours on each fill ---

I do reccomend this PV as a good starter unit for those trying an electronic cigarette for the first time,

no hassles with refilling cartridges, or dripping into attys,
a good 3 hour vape with no hassles.

Has anyone tried this product? Im thinking of buying a kit for use when driving with the new royal smoker cartos. Just wanted to get some insight from someone who has used this device before i purchase. Thanks.

One of my first kits was the V4L Manual, not auto. I subsequently bought a couple auto batteries. I would recommend the manual. No primer puff necessary, pre-heat for a second before drawing. For me at least, much better than the auto ... not a problem while driving. But then, even as a cigarette smoker I wasn't one to hold a cigarette in my mouth hands free. YMMV.

I've used both auto and manual, now my only manual is a pass-through at work. Both types work fine, the 808 is a good battery, and reliability is fairly good (there are some early life failures, it seems, with everyone's batteries -- it just plain happens, including with manual batteries; if the battery is good after a couple weeks, it seems like it's then going to be good long term).
For driving or other hands-needed activities the auto is super. In a car I use an auto pass-through -- no drain on PV batteries, and the extra voltage gives an even better kick than the standard 808 3.7V output.
With an auto you want to use clean cartos -- blow out any excess juice, wipe the threading before attaching them. Keep the air inlet holes clean, and swab with a qtip and alcohol every so often to get any gunk starting to build up in the connector. Pretty painless, pretty low maintenance.
