OK. Finally got to try the KR808. Charged battery for 8 hours. Screwed the carto on to battery after removing both stoppers from each end and the one stuck in the hole on the carto side that screws to battery. I have to draw very hard to get anything and then I get vapor but also mouth full of juice. Am I doing some wrong or did I get a dud?

I hope that maybe it is the cartos and when I get the ones from vapor kings they will be better quality and easier draw to get battery to come on. I got this for my mom who has diminished lung capacity and she will never be able to do this.

I have been through so much to get these I think I may be physically ill if they do not work.

Thanks for the help of everyone here in any case.

Hmm...a hard draw and a mouth full of juice. Sounds like you might have an overfilled carto. Two things:

1 - Hold the carto up to the light and make sure you can see all the way through the hole from end to end. If you can't, it's misaligned. You can straighten it out with a long pin.

2 - Put the white mouth part to your lips, hold a napkin at the other (battery) end and blow gently through the cartridge. If you get liquid in the napkin then it is overfilled. Blow gently a few times until you don't get anymore liquid on the napkin. Then dry the battery end, attach, and try to vape.

Thanks LadyPhoenix! The juice just poured out! That must have been clogging the hole too. I could not see through it when held to light. Once I blew it out I could see through it and it was easier to draw. Thank you so much. So many of us would throw in the towel if it were not for all of the help that we get here.

No problem! It happens sometimes as I believe all the cartos are filled by hand, so it's an inexact science. Glad I could help! :toast:

By the way, I'm getting the impression you are new to vaping or using cartomizers? So here's another tip, when you (or your mom) starts to feel the vape is giving off significantly less flavor, the carto is running dry. So at that point it's time to either toss it and use a new one or refill it. I recommend you learn to refill the cartos because in the long run it will be alot more economical.

My suggestion is to also purchase a manual battery for your mom to try...IMO, they're much better and easier.

I ordered my first kr808 with auto batteries as well...thought something most like regular cigarettes would help me quit. Maybe they did, as I stopped smoking the first day, but I suspect manual batteries would have also done the trick and saved me a lot of grief; my lips and mouth actually ached from having to draw so hard that first week. Getting manual batteries (where you press the little button) was a Godsend.

I have MANY KR808's, and have bought many for friends and family, They all wanted automatics, THEM when they try my manual, they are like " that draws so much better" and they want me to give them my LAST 2 Manual XL batteries. My answer is "tough luck, I gave you the chance to get manual when you ordered, and told you they were better."

I do ALL manual everything now. Automatics can be finicky, and have a hard draw.

Actually 1 of the kits was supposed to come with 1 manual and 1 automatic but it did not. The thread that I read by DonVaboom? said that the manual batteries for KR808 tend to stick so he did not like the manual for the KR808. He said they get stuck pushed in and you can't get them back out. I wish I would have known this as I think my mom will have a heck of a time doing the hard draw and will probably cause her to give it up altogether.

She may actually of been better off sticking with the first one that she got that was too expensive. It came with a case, multiple chargers, 3 batteries and plenty of carts. It was very easy to draw from and gave lots of vapor. I am starting to figure out that thie will be just as expensive by the time we buy the extra batteries, cartos, carrying case and chargers.

Unfortunately, when you first start vaping it usually costs more than smoking (depending on how much you smoked and all that). For me it is costing more so far. But I was lucky and found the right e-cig for me right off the bat because of a good supplier recommendation. As for the cartos and liquids, that is where I am spending the money, trying to find all the flavors I love. There's a lot of hit and miss there.

Hang in there. Eventually your mom will find the right e-cig and flavors for her and it will become routine in her choice of suppliers and her regular ordering needs.

I use Vapor4Life primarily and I ordered the kit with all the bells and whistles right from the get-go and I'm glad I did as I do indeed use all the chargers and carrying cases. As you go along, don't forget to check the approved suppliers forums for info, reviews, and sales. Also this thread is great for reviews on juices:

If the draw on a KR battery is too tough, loosen the carto just a bit. Repeat if needed. I find some cartos from the same vendor are better, some are worse. It may be according to what kind of flavor/juice was originally in them. I know some juice/flavors tend to be thicker, and coat the atomizer. Some are thinner... Best guess is trial and error.

I have 10 manual batteries and not one has ever stuck.
I have only one that is white with an orange tip, like a real cigarette. It's the short "regular" size, so needs to be charged more often, but if you'd like it, I'll send it to you for your mom...we don't want her to give up!
PM me.

Thanks Nanc! You guys are all just too good to be true. I posted on another thread that the whole problem with this ecig was quality! I received my real KR808 from Vapor Kings today and the battery was twice the size of the one from VV! And it vapes soooooo much better. Unfortunately Ron at Vapor Kings left my other kit out of my order by mistake (My mom calls me Mrs Murphy) so I gave the only one that I got to my mom. It was awesome for the 1 time that I got to try it.

I took it to my mom (yes, I still do not have one for myself) she had just gotten out of bed and started vaping away on it! She LOVES it more than the analogs. If she gives up the analogs this whole mess will have been well worth it! I really think it is going to work for her and for that I am greatful!

Nanc if you have an extra battery I would love to have it for my mom because she will stay on automatics. But if you will be able to use it yourself than please don't send it. Right now she has 2 auto batterys. 30 cartos ( she loves the 555 and Kamel) a charger and a little bag (I just ordered her a case from V4L) so it might last her a few months?

Ron sent my other kit out today and I ordered another from electronicstix for my husband that should be here by Wednesday (got that darn weekend in there again). So by the end of next week I should be sitting here talking to you guys while vaping away!

Oh yeah, I was looking at VV site and they don't actually call this one the KR808D, just 808-D. So this was partly my fault.

You might want to order some refill liquid now, so your mom can top off her cartos. Depending on how much she smoked, 30 cartos might not last all that long. Especially when first starting out, a PV can be like a pacifier, and you can go through a lot more liquid. If you keep the cartos wet and refill often, they'll last a long time. But if you vape them until they're dry, you might go through several a day. If they get dry enough they'll get a burnt taste to them and refilling won't get rid of that, you'll have to toss them.

I started with about 20, and quickly ordered a bunch of liquids to try. Now I just order blank cartos and fill them myself....it's much cheaper!

Thanks Neekyme. The thing is that I will prob go to her house 1 or 2 x a week and do the refils. I told her to put to the side when empty. How will she know when they are almost dry but not all the way? I really don't think she could do her own topping off at this point. I will order some liquid now.

The vapor and taste will decrease. To me the feeling of the vapor seems to be 'drier' too. You can usually get about 20 drops in a blank carto, and I top them off with another 10 drops several times a day. But I do vape a lot.... I would probably vape less with a higher mg nic, but I'm more addicted to the action, than the nicotine. I spend alot of time on the computer, and tend to chain-vape ;)

It took me about a month to really get comfortable with it all, and find the perfect flavors. I actually use a drip tip now on the carto, so I can easy take it off and drip 7-10 drops in, pop the tip back on and continue on.
