BTW, in regards to the HV attys, I am pretty sure that the ones I have are from Joye. Janty at one time had a posting and pics showing atty knock offs and original Joye attys.

I compared mine to the pics and it looks like the attys from HV are from Joye.

(HV = happy vaper)
You are correct, I edited my post, after (I checked my invoices). I now know where I got my SLBs from. BTW there is nothing wrong with SLBs, in the proper application.

I justed wanted to add that the only maintenance I do is let the atty drain every night and they last me a long time. I've never had an atty last less than three weeks and that was with a 5v device.

I vape stock Dekang liquid
.
That is pretty much where I was headed, and what serious folks are preaching.

Switched, I think you are mistaken. Unlike some Canadian suppliers, Jack purchases his 510 product direct from Joye. I'm thinking you got the atty that has the washer in it from somewhere else, as he has never sold any knock-offs. I've never seen an atty from Jack have the washer in it. Anyone else?

If you are curious, you should give him a call, as he always seems happy to talk to his customers.

What I've found with 510 attys is if I remove the fibers, I get a much better experience including no burnt taste and shorter break in period. This only works if you are a dripper. The carts don't wick as well once the fiber has been removed. As for an atty working on one device and not on another, it's probably the contact point at the bottom of the atty. If you put something in the hole (battery side) and gently bring the center piece down a bit, it should fire on any device.

Hope that helps.
I corrected my post, after checking my invoices. Sorry Jack. This was carried out btw when folks were posting.

I would like to apologise to the members for my mistake. My comment was inappropriate wrt the happy vaper. Although there may seem to be some improprieties between postings and editing (times) I was checking my invoices and posting comments.

The comment has been struck and an apology to Jack has also been carried out.

The mistake was an honest one as I had 3 orders come in at the same time. I have never ordered any attys from Jack, God knows I ordered everything else under the sun from him.

Normally, I don't soak the atty nor do I dry burn it unless 'the drain and blow it out method' does not give the desired result. Frankly, I think alot here put too much time into aggressive atty cleaning methods.

I seen a post the other night in the new members forum and the newb was asking about cleaning methods for the 510 atty. Somebody recommended boiling it in water ,,, the atty had been used only for 1 or 2 days. I responded that they should not do that. IMHO, boiling the atty is bad advice.

I'd have to agree, there is a lot of bad or pointless advice going around about atty cleaning. Like I mentioned earlier my good Joye atty that's lasted over a month now has never been cleaned, except the occasional blow out, and a 5 second x 10 reps dry burn once a week or so if it's not glowing like it used to when it's dry. I tried a bunch of cleaning methods on my poorly performing attys, and when that didn't work, I tried a bunch of ressurection methods too. It seemed to make them worse if anything, but at least I got to know what they look like inside.

In regards to the liquid I use, I've used Dekang, some vapables.com made stuff (100% PG), and some DIY stuff (Nic from Levy, FA flavors from Happy, 80/20% PG/VG).

I'm pretty sure the liquid I use is fine. My long-surviving atty has had every single liquid I've possessed go through it, and it's still kicking. I sometimes even get the ghost of flavors past :)

When some of my atties started producing poorly, I read all I could here in the hope I'd have a "Eureka" moment and figure out what I was doing wrong, or what was wrong with the attys. I have yet to find it, so I'm gonna keep complaining :p

For now, I still stand by my original suggestion: legit Joye attys suffer from quality control issues, whether it's bad batches, or just occasional bad attys being made. I suspect the former given the fact everyone seems to have either a bunch of sick attys, or hardly any.

Sorry if I got this thread off track a bit. No complaints about Happy Vaper here. His customer service is awesome, and he'll be getting my next atty order once I decide to experiment with the KR808 or LR-510 attys.

I vape stock Dekang liquid.

That's the best advice going, having played around with cleaning. I'll certainly second that one.

I picked up some cartomizers and an adapter from Jack yesterday. I friend of mine had ordered an ego and I had said I would pick it up for him. When I noticed the cartomizers were posted on Jack's site figured I might as well grab some for myself to try.

I ordered two packs one stainless steel and one black. The black appear to be the stainless steel with a sticker on it (prehaps all colours are like this?). When I put the cone on my ego it was real hard to get a good drawn much like the milkshake analogy someone used. I had to remove the cone for it to work properly. I like to look of my ego with the cone so I wanted to figure out if I could do something about it. I peeled off the sticker and used warm water on my fingers to get the sticky stuff off and it works much better. I would recommend ordering the silver ones if you have an ego to save yourself the hassle.

There is definately less vapor but still a decent amount. The flavour is pretty close on the watemelon/menthol mix that I used but did seem a little milder. I noticed that the carto gets warm and I find it a little rougher on my throat, I am assuming is because of the extra heat. I filled my cartomizer just before I left work for the day yesterday. It lasted me the entire drive which I tend to chain vape for the 30 minutes it takes me. I also went out and another 20 minutes of chain vaping on the drive. Not sure the total time it lasted but definately much longer then regular carts. I think one or two would last me all day for work and I would not have to carry to much stuff with me. I gave my friend a couple cartomizer and an adapter and he seems to prefer them over carts. I would definately recommend them to people would find the carts a hassle or if going on a long drive.

I wonder if you have any other flavours that you have and might give a try with the cartomizers, such as any of the DK tobacco or exclusive tobacco blends from vapables: DK-Tab, Export Eh, Do More Eh, etc, etc.

I ordered some cartos and am expecting my order to arrive on Monday.

I seem to be collecting many types of juice, now that I have gotten a couple friends into vaping and we have been trading.

From vapables I have do more eh 18mg and camel 18mg
from evapers I have marlyboro 26mg that I usually mix down (I don't think I could vape a whole carto of this).
I also have some ry4 from eastmall that I believe is DK. Which is what I was planning on loading tonight.

I wish I had some DK-tab :( I tried some at the GTA get together and quite liked it but Rob was sold out.

Hmm, might be worth giving one a try. I'm getting really sick of my 510 atties dying at random, and the KR808-D doesn't have heaps of threads dedicated to its inconsistent build quality.

Is it possible to make one of these attach to an eGO? I can only see an adaptor for attaching a 510 atty to a KR808 on Happy's site, and not the reverse adaptor.

Look for the newer kr8 cartomizers with higher resistance and improved airflow. There are also new 510 cartomizers on the market with similar features. Improved performance and significantly reduced (albeit not entirely eliminated) risk of burning. And they hold amazing amounts of e-juice--up to 1 1/4 mL.

I had one of my egos loaded with a cart of RY4 and the other with a stainless steel cartomizer filled with RY4. I have no troubles with the stainless steel cartomizer out of box and draw works quite well with the ego cone. I found the white caps btw are not glued on and pop off quite easily with the use of a paper clip. I used my label maker and made 12mm labels that I stuck on the cartomizer with the flavour and mg. You cannot see it at all with the cone on and it does not effect the draw at all. At least I should not lose track of what flavour I have loaded.

RY4 tastes quite different to me in the cartomizer then a regular atty. Less of a sweet taste and I notice the tobacco flavour more. It reminds me more of the camel then RY4. I also tried Do More Eh and I think I like that one better in the cartomizer then a regular atty.

You are right in that sometimes there are weird differences. RY4 is a perfect example of a flavor that just seems to be a little different everytime you vape it.

One of my biggest issues was allowing myself to let liquid "mature" in a cartomizer. You know us, wanting to vape right away.

It really helps a cartomizer (in my humble opinion) to fill and let sit for a day before vaping.
