so do you feel comfortable leading someone to use them, although you know about them burning the filler ?

You will find that a lot here. Do not let anyone fool you. There are burnt carts being used a lot. People do not even know until they are already vaping the burnt fiber.

Does this problem affect the KR808-D2/E9 as well? Is it endemic to any model using cartomizers because of the close physical location between the atomizer and the filler material?

Exactly. There is an inner fiber that burns first. You won't notice a taste until the outer fiber burns.

People have been questioning this for a year, and it just gets shoved aside.

Is there another model with a separate atomizer whose cartridges last just as long without refilling as the kr808's, that topping it off would only be optional not required, and which has the same or better battery life?

the only other carts I know of that are compatable with kr808 batteries are the Greencigs. Check out Nhaler. He sells them. They are more expensive, but last longer, and, more importantly, they do not burn.

I'm not entirely sure why one would need to top off an eGo every 10 minutes, or take a ton of filled carts with you. I really chain vape, and my carts last me between three quarters of an hour to an hour, and when they are empty, I have a 5ml-bottle in my pocket to refill them in a few seconds.

I use nothing more complicated than a Staw+Fluval cart mod, something that takes less than a minute to make.

And the way I vape, even if cartos would work as intended and not burn, I'd have to take more than one with me for a day out. And those I would not like to refill on the go. So not exactly that much of a difference, is there?

Katmar would you mind posting some pics of a dissected greencig carto? I've recently started using cartomizers and they've been okay. I know nothing about all the different versions out there. Anything that holds more liquid is something I'd like to check out. I switched from 510 atomizers to cartos on my battery boxes because I got tired of the constant refilling and leaking.

AlexTM I think the cartos are incredibly more convenient when you're out and about. I vaped a 510 from the end of December to the end of February and then switched over to cartomizers. On the 510 I used the blue foam dart mod so I was getting about as much juice into a cart as possible and the cartomizers still have to be refilled about half as often. I go through about 2 - 3ml a day and now that I've started filling my cartomizers from the battery side (against everyones recommendations) using the rubber cap method they work awesomely.

I read your whole review of the kr808 a while back and my experience with them is nothing at all like yours. I've refilled a handful of cartomizers probably 30+ times and they're fine. I've never had one get hot. I used to tailpipe my 510.. that was hot. My cartos just get warm.

I don't use greencig carts, Uber. There are plenty of pictures of kr808 burnt carts in these threads. I will try to find them if you cannot.

I have had many carts (kr808) that were NOT hot, but when I dissected them, they were burnt. That has been the scary thing for me. No warning whatsoever, but the inner material was burnt through, outer filler was still wet, so I was inhaling burnt filler without knowing it.
