Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. You made it & if you like it, that's all that counts!

If two CR2s will fit in there, then one 14500 should too. That would give you 3.7v & 900mah.

Yes, they are protected. I have 2 mods. One uses the 14500/900mah and the other uses an 18650/2400mah. They both use the same charger, but (of course) the 18650 is MUCH larger.
