As much as I enjoy the liquids and cartomizers that I purchase from my preferred vendors, I am becoming increasingly unhappy with my KR808d1 batteries. I need a more reliable, longer lasting alternative, with an equal- if not better draw. I was wondering if anyone has switched from KR808d1 batts to something different, and if so, are you more satisfied?

I've done some scattered research throughout this forum, and the eGo looks tempting, though I have no experience with the 3-piece, separate atty models. I tried doing a search to see if there's an adapter for the eGo that would accommodate my KR cartomizers, because I'm hard pressed to give up the wonderful carts I'm currently using (love them). Unfortunately, I'm only familiar with KR language, so usually my searches end up frustrating me, due to lack of familiarity with abbreviations used withing discussions of other models.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My first venture into the world of the three piece PV after Kr808 was the ProVape. A great unit for exploring the world of dripping and branching out into different flavored juices. They make a special 901 atty adapter for it that is 'cartomizer ready' (kr808d1). This has become my favorite thing for vaping when I'm home. When I go out, I still use the VK batts with cartos just because I find it more convenient. Check out their site, and there are several reviews on ECF

I use both a KR808 and an eGo. The eGo is a very nice unit and the battery life is great. One thing of note is that the vapor from the eGo is very smooth and does not have nearly the throat hit of the KR carts. As for the KR batteries, I use the shorter ones but carry a PCC all the time, so the battery is pretty much always charging when not in use.

Thanks Windsage. By any chance, is there an adapter for the eGo that allows you to use KR808 carts?

I love the KR's, when they're working properly. It's just they are so unreliable. I ordered 2 last week, from two different places, and I have to send BOTH of them back because they do not work. I've been vaping since December, and unfortunately this has happened to me at least a dozen times. It's really getting to me. I know the suppliers are working hard at improvements, but I guess my patience is wearing thin with these batteries. I've considered quitting altogether, but the last time I quit nicotine, it didn't bode well for myself and those around me. (mostly for me though)

Thanks again for your input.

The KR8 batts are actually pretty good. They put out a full 3.7 volts and about 4.2 volts on a full charge. Maybe try the XL 380 mah KR808 batt. It lasts quite a bit longer than the standard 280mah batt.

IMO though I would go to something like a little chuck or protege for the simple fact that they're built solidly and the battery capacity destroys any stock batteries on the market. Plus you have the choice of different adapters for either cartos, 510s, 901s, etc.

I never cared for cartos they don't give me near the vapor production of a 901 or 510 atomizer. The only advantage of cartos is their fluid capacity.

I recently purchased and LOVE my BB from altsmoke -- I use my Kr8 cartos with the 510/901/Kr808 adapter he sells. Beautiful vape, nice draw, juices all taste better (no, really, they do) and looooonnnng battery life. It's all good! I highly recommend it!

Here's the link....http://altsmoke.com/feature/thebb.html?SID=4c6a669441f63ca66ffd77335afe58f4

I still love my V4L XL manual Kr8 batteries for social situations and at work. At home and in the car its my BB and cartos all the time.

Edit: I originally started looking at 3.7v mods for the extended battery life to last me my 12+ hour shifts at work -- the BB more than lasted. But, as a nurse, I wear scrubs and mostly "stealth vape" not being afforded to leave the unit very often, if at all. The BB with adapter and carto attached is shorter than my XLs with carto attached but the diameter of its body is that of a US nickel -- it's just a little too heavy to tote around in my scrub pocket all shift. If I had a desk job, it'd have it's place of honor right out front! :)

yeah you can get this adapter: 510 to 901/808-D Adapter for a whole $2.49 each...
And the draw is adjustable by taking off the adapter and turning the slot in the 901/808 end with a screwdriver...

Some cartomizers the eGo cone is a little tight with the label on the carto (and it might have to be peeled...
But yeah they work just fine
here the Stainless eGo has a vapornine turbo cartomizer on it:

I was in the same situation as the OP only worse, because I'm planning on a 4-day concert in the woods with no electricity, so I bought a Black Silver Bullet from Altsmoke. Screw on the adaptor, screw on the cartomiser and you can vape for almost 2 days before needing to change the battery. While you're vaping away, you can charge the little batteries and use them, too. The Silver Bullet is awesome!

I just picked up a Provape-1 with a 510 atty adapter and a 510-to-808 adapter from madvapes. So far so good. The Vapornine Turbos work well at 3.7v and I'm already invested in 808 pass throughs, so being able to use one cartomizer on a couple of different electrical sources is pretty handy.

I like the small size of the Provape. Very nice build quality too. I'd post a pic, but I don't have enough posts yet. :)

I also went with the BB and I love it.Ive heard really good things about Madvapes new Hello 016.They say its 1300mah!!My BB is only 900mah.The 016 will last 2x longer than a ego and you can use it with an 808 adapter for cartos. The kit is only like $50.

the problem I see with the hello 016 is that the cone and atty are one piece...so you'd have to replace the coneimizer (blame someone else for that word)...and without the cone it looks kinda funky...

hey Allan...put the photos on photobucket or something and then just use the IMG link in your post body...rather than adding them through the manage attachment thing here....if that doesnt work it's just 15 posts til you can post links and add pics

Yeah, it's just the 15 post thing - I've got them on my own webspace, I just need to find about 7 or 8 more things to talk about. :)

I think the V4L passthroughs put out 5 volts, I have 2 of them.

received the BW 530(808) and e juice shipment yesterday....Perfect. They were sent a couple of adapter 808 to 401, 808 to 510 as freebie alone with BW 530 i ordered.

I am so suprised to received these adapters and trying to use.It works very good, and i love these adapters and their e cigaretes, even e juices, their Courtesy Service

Thank you all for the information you've provided. It's helped me out a lot. :)

Being as I'm not really a fan of the push button manuals, is there anything similar to the BB etc. that does not have the push-button feature? Or is that a sort of design requisite in the higher power battery phenom?

If they're that good, I'll certainly learn to adjust to the buttons if need be. Just figured I'd ask..
