e2 R4 first impressions

So far I have only used 2 808d reg cap 2.5 ohm r4's from CoV, and it has lead me to this conclusion.

hands down without a doubt they are effin brilliant.

They are simple juice containers with a large wick that loops from the bottom to the ceramic cup through the coil.
Capillary action - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Capacity wise i can fit about .7ml's into the carto(apparently the xl's are around 1.8mls). At the time i placed my order for these I also got a syringe from the site, which makes filling these accurate fast and painless, you remove the 2 inserts and then fill through one of the filling holes then reinstall inserts. Overall the process was quite a painless experience that takes me less than a couple of mins to preform.

Flavor/Vapor production

Both far superior to its older brother e1, and very close to a lr306 at 4.3v a little less vapor density and flavor the flavor is still superb and i have not experienced none of the primer horror related to earlier releases like the r2's that i previously tried(I did preform a dry burn before I filled them for the first time for good measure). Currently I am on my 4th refill with 1 and 2nd refill on the other, and both have preformed very consistently .

Wicking

The Wicking action of the e2's is the most discussed and important feature, and this I believe will vary greatly due the viscosity of the juice that you are using. I have been vaping 56 in one and freedom in the other, imo i find them to be a fairly thin juice, Fortunately that works in the E2's favor, and consequently mine. From the box i noticed i could vape to dry in about 2 good puffs, so i would wait for about 30 seconds and be good to go again(2.5 ohm on 3.7 kr8bat) this seems to be pretty consistent for both Cartomizers. Today at lunch i removed the filler ring and made the wick slots a bit larger, that increased my puff count drastically. This is still not a great for people who do not want to tinker from the get go. Although it is my understanding the higher ohm around 3ohm wick better, from what i have read. Also the PTB mod is supposed to cats meow, but i would rather try to avoid drastic modifications to a disposable device.

Leaking concerns.
I left my cartos sitting upside down while i slept last night, and there was no leakage, so thats is that.

My Bottom line

I have had these for a little over 32 hours and i am 100% convert, no going back to dripping now, 1 day with these, and it gave me the freedom to realize how much of a burden dripping actually is. anyway since cartomizers are supposed to be disposable, i believe that at 32 hours i almost got my moneys worth even at 1.99 a piece. They show no signs of failure as of yet and most likely last a couple more days a piece. I will address that when i do a update.

Vape out.

I agree with the OP, these may well be the 'holy grail'.

I'm finding the 2.6-2.8 ohms produce a slightly hot vapor for my taste, the 3.0-3.2 ohm seems to suit me better on an eGo battery.

I agree about the lower vapor density, but I can live with it. The taste, ease of use, longevity (the XL carts last me almost a whole day), low battery usage and lack of leaking have convinced me that these are winners.

Great review, teabagger.

You say "remove the 2 inserts." [Emphasis mine.] Is that in addition to the white end-cap? Perhaps that's why I have a problem finding the two tiny filling holes ... or maybe it's my 64-year-old eyes.

The vapor is extraordinary (although I can't stand the prefilled juice that came with my RS808D-1 kit from Vapor Junction). I do miss not being able to use Doggsbody's Carto Cap fill technique. So far at least, dripping in my 801 is still my preferred vape.

Yes i was including the white cap as a insert. Good catch so re worded it could be remove cap, remove spacer then fill through those tiny holes. You can if you like remove the filler ring that surrounds the ceramic cup, and drip fill around the edge, but i do find removing the filler ring quite a pain in the ...., and i have damaged them in the process.
