Sorry, forgot a question:
on a 14500 VV Bottomfeeder with Display...

can one turn the display off and on ?

I know zip about electronics so two dumb questions:

re the VV chip and LED Display you are using:
1) can one "code" the chip? such as to show how many times I've pressed the vape-HAPPY button?
I think I vape too much sometimes and would LOVE to know how many times a day i hit the button.

2) any way to "code" that LED to display remaining battery life? in pct?

nite

Double Kill! 14500 Evercool with display

I thought I had more in me tonight but 7 hours is enough. I'm passing out I'll have some more for yall tomorrow night!

That makes perfect sense, and your answer prompted me to realize where I had seen them before, on the WOOD PORN pages as I call them, as the wood has the thickness to contain said metal button and a thin plastic box of course does not.

I've come across that question a couple times, the main issue with it is the depth of that button. I goes pretty deep into the case and won't fit (depth-wise) in a battery case. It was a special order button sent to me by Joe and it really was a cool button, some of them are available to get, but at $16 a pop.

thanks for the into there's a on.off for the LED display. I have TINY knowledge with more expensive chips, and know they can be coded via PC software to do a great many things. But that was in a larger qty environment, but it was also many years ago and technology changes

example being with the $200 Provari, there's a chip inside which was coded by example "if button is clicked 4 times, do X, if button is clicked 5 times, display Y on the LED display", the code is written once on a computer. then "burned in" to each new chip.

any EE reading this, I apologize for saying this very badly, lol

In the interest I like to learn things:
LED Display, one button; which can be a CLICK button vs a ON.OFF toggle switch.
can one using that one CLICK button do this by example
click TURN ON DISPLAY and default to showing voltage
click again ; and shows how many times the FIRE button has been fired (reset to 0000 via a reset button INSIDE the case)
click again, and now shows remaing battery life in percentage
click again, and LED display turns OFF

just asking in the interest of I like to ask smart people questions I'm curious about. thanks

GAC beat me to it. I do have a small seperate on/off switch that will turn the display on and off if asked for. The "battery life left" can be done I just don't do it most of the time because it requires more wiring and an extra button when most people know pretty well how long their batts last them.

Yeah you can have small set instructions coded into a chip however the displays most everyone uses for modding are pre-constructed to read voltage only and have a sum-all run at the end if more than one battery exists. I got my associates in programming but like you said in order to add instructions to something you have to go full in and fabricate the entire board with chip and install your own instructions or do a large order through a major manufacturer which is well beyond my means at the current time.

Sorry I haven't had anything wild and crazy lately fsroq although the one I'm about to start on is fairly interesting, it might just tickle your fancy.

Sorry to ask for this, but if its possible can I get a list of the available products with pictures. Also any add ons you can do, such as displays, leds, and the like. Everything is getting buried and I cant seem to get a grip on all of what is being sold here.

Good idea!! James is getting to the point that he needs a catalog... :thumb: Could a website be far behind???

I was also thinking that it might be a good idea to have a central link to all of the slide shows you post of the new projects that have been created/completed... there really isn't much on your Youtube Channel...

I've been considering a website the last little bit. I honestly think it would be more for showing off what I've done than for ordering what I haven't just because I very rarely get the "Yeah just want a black evercool" order hehehe. I will look into setting up a little something and have some options so at least those that are new to the thread can have a place to look and get a little ammo for when they begin the process.

Thanks. Just and idea but maybe place the models, like

3.7 box

5v box

VV box

Bottom feeder box

Then maybe do options after each

LED

Display

18650 or 14500 batteries

colors of the box

ect.

That would make it easier for me. And I'm sure you've done enough you could have pictures for most of the different options and what not.
