Krylon to protect Brass Mods

This was suggested to me was wondering if anyone had tried it.
Basically polish it up really nice and let it dry real good from the polish. Then give it a clear coat of Krylon..... this stuff Amazon.com: Krylon 6-Ounce Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating Aerosol Spray: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

Bad idea?

I doubt that the Krylon would stand up to handling very well. Plus, it's difficult to make any coating stick to a highly polished metal. A thorough cleaning with alcohol or other solvent is needed prior to coating. An automotive clear coat may be your best bet or get used to using something like this often...
