Kylin RTA cotton troubles(turning brown)

After 10+ hours I have to rewick because my cotton turns brown and starts tasting off. It wicks fine but after a while, it just starts to taste tainted. Any way to alleviate this? Build is twisted 26g nichrome 80 7 wrap 3mm id

That's normal....... and the sweeter or darker the juice the faster it will happen... excess heat capacity can aggravate the issue.

I go to thinner wire and more stands twisted together.. like 3x28 awg or 29... will give the surface area of the 26 but at a lower Mass. So the coil will heat and cool faster. Leading to less caramelization.
