I have my own room. I got tired of being snored at, woken up because he startles awake and baked alive..he likes the heating blanket and comforter, even in the summer.
Mike has had sleep tests, a cpap machine for COPD and Apnea but short of smothering in his sleep nothing worked.

The Dr. told him that his snoring was killing him ( along with heart problems and copd) due to waking up every 5 seconds. He falls asleep anywhere and everywhere because he is not getting any deep sleep.

My room is my comfort zone. Cool sheets, lots of pillows and room darkening curtains. I sleep late, Mike gets up at 4am...close to when I go to bed! This works for us, you have to do what works for you!

Sounds like I have lots of company in this department!
I would love to use one of the other bedrooms as my own, but 2 grown kids have moved back home so no spare rooms to be had.
The nose strips just open his nose up further and he snores LOUDER!
Like Chelle said, if he would just sleep on his left side all would be well.

As far as "other" noises, he has done that a few times too, once so loud that it woke him up!

I have my own room to, my Gib snores so bad that when he goes on a fishing or hunting trip with the guys flip a coin to see who has to bunk with him, he tried the strips and everythin else, nothing worked, when I did sleep with him I would pinch his nose and if that did'nt work I would stick my finger in his mouth to wake him up but he just about bit my finger off once and thats when I decided to move to another room just to keep peace in the house, but I love having my own private place now. So sorry you don't have a spare room to call your own thelook, as for going to the doctor, some men can be so stuborn about that, mine included.

HMMM bunk beds for the grown up kids! Convert the little space over the garage for one of them..rent them a tiny apt.. stop cooking for them. Have hubby make an addition. add a snoring room on to your bedroom, That is a small room off of the master bedroom..just room for a bed and sliding doors. banish the noise.

Has anyone tried this? It looks like he is ready for water polo or as a super hero who forgot to take off all of his superuniform.

I PUT A PILLOW OVER HIS FACE!!!

Works for me. I can get pretty ugly when I am sleep deprived, too. :toast:

We thought of that..but as much as I love Mike..that's too close for comfort!
Maybe for a week or three but after that...nope! He can have the sleeping area..I will take the couch or dining room table convertable bed as long I have memory foam! besides it's only for a couple of hours and then we switch!

Snoring can be sleep apnea.. which can kill you! Ren used to snore so loud the kids thought there was a monster in the house.. I am not kidding!

So he went to the doc, got a sleep study and found he was waking up like 600 times a night, due to the snoring/sleep apnea which has to do with stopping breathing. This can be very hard on a persons heart and it lowers the oxegen in your blood stream due to the stopping of breathing.

So I would highly reccomend a sleep study for anyone who has a snoring problem. :)
