When I was a kid, every time I pulled a dumb stunt, I'd be mortified - usually looking around and hoping that no one else witnessed my lack of grace or ineptitude. But as I've matured (and become even less graceful), I've learned that it's a heckuva lot more fun to laugh at this proof of my humanity. Every one pulls off the occasional dumb stunt. Some of us more than others. I laugh A LOT!

So this is a thread where we can celebrate our membership in the great human race by telling us of your latest "smooth move".

For instance: Today I drove seventeen miles to the closest grocery store so that I could get all that I need for holiday baking and for Christmas Dinner - a pretty big deal for myself and my kids. There were so many items that I needed that I'd developed an extensive list. A list (I realized as soon as I walked into the store) that I'd left at home - 17 miles away.

I could have driven home - a wasted 34 miles, but instead I decided to wing it. This resulted in me stopping in my tracks every so often, and mentally going through recipes for ingredients that I may or may not have. It must have looked to an outsider as if I was suddenly having an out-of-body experience right there in Walmart.

Another example: Just now, I managed to spill a cup of coffee, with a generous amount of creamer, into my keyboard. This might very well have dire consequences;jgqajpgakja;fjjw'oypsoihpsi@#$&!!

You get the idea. 'Fess Up! I wanna hear your dumb stunts!

Um..that bites, Rave. List not with you in a grocery store can be costly ( NOT that I have ever, EVER, done that. Nope).

I could write a book on my 'is this the first signs of alzheimer's?" moments. I've worried that being the reason why I have a forgetful moment since I ever heard about the affliction. Meh, most times its just us being in overload. jmho

Actually, it turned out okay. When I got home I immediately looked over my list and crossed off all of the things that I bought. The only thing I forgot were potatoes. And I really don't need those for Christmas dinner. :)

Great job on the shopping rave!!

Sometimes when I go to lunch I will sit in my car and read for a little while before I go back in the building. One day I went back in and got to my desk and realized I didn't have my keys. I call hubby and tell him to bring me the extra set when he has a chance. He does and he goes back to work. When I leave for the day 4 hours later....I unlock my car (at least I thought I did) get in and look for the keys. They are in the ignition and the car is still running :facepalm: It had sit there for 4 hours running and the door unlocked and no one stole it :shock:

That was my lucky day!!!!

ps......I never told DH that

I've done similar lisa, I was backing out of my drive and was always accustomed to throwing it in reverse backing up towards the garage to turn around, one day grandma was over visiting and I had to run to the store, as per my usual routine I whipped it out toward the garage to turn around and backed in to grandmas car.

and I was doing so well today. I am the queen of parallel parking! :D And i got into some wicked tight spaces today with one move! but alas...my proud moment was short lived. after delivering my parcel, I promptly got into my car, put my seatbelt on, checked my mirrors, backed up to give myself room, put the car in drive, cranked the wheel all the way to the left, put my turn signal on, and waited patiently for my opportunity to pull out into traffic.......:?:............................:?:...okay....there's my break....wait for it.....wait for it..... and GO! damn.... My car was in park. UGH!!! Now I have to wait for traffic again!!! :grr::lol:

I cleaned the back of a machine out that I was running at work one night, into a tote. Sloppy, nasty, stinky, rotten meat. Got out of the machine and put the tote on the floor. Someone yelled at me, so I turned around. After finding out what the person wanted, I stepped back, hit the tote with my foot, lost my balance, and sat in it. Needless to say, I couldn't stop laughing out of embarrassment...my .... was covered in crude.
