Oooo Yay! A bookworm thread! My favorite past time. I can read through a whole weekend and block out everything around me. It's awesome. Probably why I'm still single LOL

Stephen King is one of my favs! I'm reading one of his short story collections "Full Dark, No Stars". Sometimes I enjoy his short story collections more because, well, they're short! Let's face it sometimes he can be a little longwinded, but he always has his reasons for being so. I'm anxiously waiting for the library to call me for his new book "11/22/63". I'm on a waiting list.

I also like Patterson, Evanovich (she cracks me up), and recently Mary Kay Andrews. Reading through this thread, I guess now I'm going to have to try Dan Brown. I used to read quite a bit of Dean Koontz but for some reason his sentences didn't seem to "flow" well, he was soooo descriptive and he's a little too sci-fi for me. I recently read all 3 of Steig Larrson's Girl Tatoo books and enjoyed them tremendously.

My best friend calls me "The Book" I'll let you fill in the letters! LOL Thought about getting that tatooed on my hip

Oooh, I got the new Stephen King for my birthday! Great so far, and an unusual twist.... Of course I have just about every King book, some Koontz, love Carl Hiassen, Celeste Deblasis, and many old authors.

I guess my top authors are King, Thomas B. Costain, Eugenia Price, and James Michener. Quite a weird combination, huh? If you haven't read it I highly recommend The Tontine, by Costain. Took me a bit to figure out just what was going on and when I did, wow!

Just finished reading the agony and the ecstasy for the second time. It's a long book, but I couldn't put it down. It accounts michelangelo's life fr when he was around 14 till his death. Beautifully written and a great, epic story. Super too if you are going to Italy soon!!!

I have 77 books on my kindle now. All were free with Prime though In an email I get a daily list of book that fit my preferences. Um, that's not too obsessive......right?

With Amazon you can join their prime membership for $80 a year. For that you can get free 2 day shipping on a lot of stuff, discounts on books, and you can stream movies and TV shows. They have a lot of movies you can watch for free. We use Amazon a bunch so they don't make any money off of us

i haven't read all of this thread to know what everyone likes to read. i love science fiction and fantasy. i'm also a huge fan of self-motivation and non-religious spiritual books [way of the peaceful warrior; eat, pray, love; etc]. currently reading the game of thrones and loving them! the author of my all-time favorite series Dragonriders of Pern, recently passed and i'm still pretty sad about that, though she had a very full life.
i have a nook that is dual booted as an android, so i can download and read nook, kindle and almost any book with e-reader capability. [i have a wierd aversion to paying a company a high price and ONLY being able to order books from their site. monopolies are not us heh]

I don't have one either. I love my library and paper Pillars of the Earth is my favorite read by Ken Follet.
