A friend of mine just got one of these and is struggling with temp control with ss 316l in a goblin mini.

I am trying to give him a hand. We think there is a possibility his coil legs weren't trapped well but I was also trying to find information on this device and it's not easy to come by.

Does it have adjustable tcr? If no what TCr is it using for ss mode?

Any info you can pass along would be great. He tried temp control with nickel almost a year ago and gave up. I talked him into trying ss and he's frustrated. Help me help him. Haha

Realized I didn't tell you the problem. It ohmed out at .5 with dual coils at 2mm about 7 wraps with 24 guage. Was working ok but I don't see how that ohm reading is right. Then he wanted to try it in power mode so switched over. Then when he went back to temp mode it ohmed out at .15. At .15 it was firing but getting no vapor and was barely throwing any power at the coil but I don't remember what the screen read

First, I'm not familiar w/this mod- no idea of whose board it uses and a quick search didn't reveal anything.

Did the mod ask if there was a new coil being used when he went to TC from power and the resistance changed? Before doing anything else, try to get it to ask if new coil and answer yes- then see what you get.

0.15 ohm is a lot closer to what the resistance should be, than 0.5 ohm. Using the calculator at Steam Engine, I get about 0.125 ohm, given the parameters you supplied above. Whether the discrepancy lies with the connection points or with the mod, I can't say. I CAN say that early on, dual coils caused problems with TC. To lessen this, be sure the coils are as close to the same as possible, that the connections are all secure (including cleaning the mod's 510), and that the batteries have sufficient headroom for the load being imposed on them and that they are a matched set.

Another problem may be the actual wire specs. Some SS wire does not have the TCR that it should have. This includes some 'subohm' TC coil heads.

Barring anything obvious being the problem, I'd suggest trying a single coil build using Ni200 wire. Once it's determined the mod behaves as it should in TC, then try dual Ni200 coils and go from there.

I have the same problem with this mod. I'm using the Smok TFV4 Mini and wrapping my own coils using 316 SS wire 3.0-3.5mm 26-24ga 5-6 wraps. my current coil reads .32ohm on a Coil Master 521 Tab and a eVic -VTC Mini all modes. But on the Laisimo L1 200W TC, the resistance reads: PWR .32ohm, SS .63ohm, NI and TI .17ohm. I'm trying to get an answer from the company but any other answers would be great.
