Lanyards, does anyone actually use them?

My PVs are almost always tethered to my belt loop with a homemade lanyard, mostly so I don't misplace them. Too heavy to wear around the neck, they ride in my pants pocket.

Well I'm looking for something retractable that I can attach to my belt, sort of like a retractable badge holder. As far as the coolness factor goes? Pfft I am a Combat Veteran I don't give two craps about what others think of me. Well there are a few people who's opinions I value, but Jesus loves me, my wife loves me, my kids love me and I love me so I'm good to go in that regard.

So can some of the grownups on this board offer advice regarding a workable solution for a retractable mod holder?

Do you guys use the generic eGo lanyard or something else? I tried the lanyard and it failed my little durability test.. Need something a bit rugged before reconsidering. Hanging it on your neck certainly has its uses, no doubt about it

You raise an interesting issue since lanyards come in different styles. I purchased my first lanyard for my Provari (which most vapers know is pretty hefty) several weeks ago. The skinny little string thing with a clip may work well for an eGo, but would never do for anything larger. The first thing I noticed was the pain in the back of my neck caused by the weight of the device pulling downward. I realized I would need a wider band to compensate for the weight.

I opted for a "sports logo" lanyard (for lack of a better term) and a mod holder. Works perfectly!

Ya know, I thought I was like this, but when I thought how convenient a fanny pack would be for carrying around a travel vape kit, and you know it SO would, I just couldn't do it, man. Just couldn't do it.

You could possibly attach a mod holder to a retractable key ring. Your success would depend on how heavy your mod is. Maybe something with a switch (like on a tape measure) which would prevent releasing the mod when you don't want it released.

I'm not metro-sexual or anything like that. Not even close. However...

Cellphones and other belt-clip stuff aren't fashion accessories. They look idiotic IMO. If you're a person who's job requires a tool belt, that's one thing; clipping an ecig/mod/whatever is another.

Unless you're required to wear an ID badge (or the like) on a lanyard, lanyards are pretty much like stuff on your belt. See my previous statement.

I carry my Halo Triton in an Epi Pen case in my pocket. I usually wear cargo pants/shorts, so it's not noticeable. Takes a beating with no damage to my Triton. If it leaks, the case is well sealed.

I'm looking for a cigar tube that my Vamo and Protank or Evods will fit in.

I know I'm going to get flamed. Everyone's got their thing. I just think that lanyards and belt clips are today's version of fanny packs. My old fanny pack is retired along with my mullet. Both seemed cool at the time, but the pictures tell another story. A very comical story.

What did you say about Fanny packs? Hmm?

I wouldn't be caught dead, I am far too vain. I once got really irate with a waiter at a seafood restaurant for trying to put a bib on me. I'd rather be covered in crab juice and smash every Protank I own than look like a dork. Plus I can just shove it in my bra when I want free hands.

I'm sure there will come a day when I regret not having my PV tied to me, but until that day I won't be looking like a kid with her mittens pinned to her jacket.
