Hiya, sorry to ask a really dumb question - well it is me asking, you wouldn't expect anything else but dumb. :p

I'm hoping to buy an eCig with a USB adapter (saving on batteries whilst I'm here at the laptop anyway) and I wondered if it's ok to rest eCigs under a laptop? I'm worried I'll get so used to not caring about batteries and fry the atomizers instead, by letting them overheat.

I have a laptop cooler; see here: BELKIN LAPTOP COOLING PLATFORM WITH FAN F5L001ER - PC World Business Online Store UK - Buy The Best Deals Online.

As you may see from the pic, it has a ridge in it between the laptop [top and bottom] edges, this would be ideal to rest my eCig on to let it cool.

Would it be safe to rest my eCig here?

stick in the fridge between puffs i doubt it will make it live any longer.. the things wear out after xxxx puffs.. a warm casing probably makes them work better..

just make sure u have some spare ones..

trog

Cheers Trog. :)

I was worried that I'd prematurely kill it off, something I can't afford to do.

I'm hoping to get some cash for Christmas, not the Cash of course (I think his wife may have a thing of two to say about it :D) so hopefully I can afford to buy the screwdriver in the New Year. It'l solve a lot of my [long term] financial woes if nothing else. ;)

If you are talking about the usb ecig, I leave mine plugged in all the time and nothing heats up until I use it. At first, not being sure, I used to take the atomizer off when I wasn't using it but through trial and error, found it didn't make a difference. I just wish I could find some little device that attaches to the side of my monitor so i could hang it up between puffs instead of laying it down all the time. That may come....who knows! :)

Weegie Bird, Are you getting a ecig with a usb adapter for charging or a usb ecig. If its a usb charger then you wont be able to smoke it using your laptop. That device just allows you to charge using your laptop usb port. So you wont actually be saving batteries. There is one ecig ive seen that actually allows you to smoke directly using usb or others on this forum ie have made conversions themselves.

Hi Paxes, the one I was looking at was the Kissbox Extended kit. If I'm understanding it correctly (probably not, knowing me lol) it can be used straight from the USB, or it can also charge via the USB. Kate, on one of the Kissbox threads, mentioned that the batteries for the USB cable (if using it without plugging into the computer) can be bought cheaply and can also be charged at the wall if preferred.

Sounds as though it could be cheaper in the long run as I could keep the proper batteries for using outdoors.

Love the Dead Fred, Weegie! I just ordered one! :D

I was thinking about ordering one as well, I also the look of his wee pal Stan: Splatted Stan Coaster: Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games
