Hi all, I have a pretty new Apollo Vtube that is causing me some difficulty. I have a single coil 3.0 ohm atomizer on it (verified). When I set my volts to 4.9 which I read should be fine, it will vape once, then the volts automatically drop to 3.0. This clearly is not working for me.
Any ideas why this might be happening? Or what I should do?

3 ohm carto is standard for a Lavatube. You did say you checked the resistance of the coil with a meter. I just opened a box of Boge 3 ohm cartos and filled the first one. A couple of days later it was tasting burned and read 2.2 ohms. The rest of the box reads 2.9 to 3.3 just like they should. Go figure. Maybe they slipped in a lowball carto on you.

A 3 ohm atty should pull 1.6 amps, so you are well below the current setback point.

You may need to adjust the tension on the end cap spring. I had to do that on my Provari shortly after I got it. It remembers the voltage setting, but I'd see the fire LED light momentarily when I set it down sometimes. Yours would set back to 3 volts if you had a momentary disconnect. You need a firm spring pressure to maintain contact.

yeah I've had to do stretch the spring on mine because the batteries were slightly loose and would lose contact mid-vape causing it to reset at 3.0v. If that isn't the case and there is something defective, good news is Apollo will send you a brand new one no questions asked. My 510 connection threading won't hold any carto on except the last half turn, and everything keeps falling off with the slightest touch. I told CS about it, and also that I've dropped my SS vtube mini on it's head resulting in a decent dent on the rim of the drip well, and asked about sending it in to replace the connection. They said nah we'll just send you a brand new one. It shipped today.

I have had this problem on two lavatubes, and the best thing I have found to do is use a battery spacer on top of the battery. It gives the battery a small nipple, and helps it make contact. The other thing you can do is replace the end cap. From what I can tell is the spring settles in the cap, and causes the battery to be loose in the tube.

My Apollo Vtube has been doing this. And now the center pin has sunken all the way in. I'm guessing the center pin is spring loaded and the spring broke. I tried to pull the pin out with small pliers but I cant get it to stay out, gravity takes it right back down.

I don't know if it's a battery thing with the Vtube dropping to 3.0 or if it's the center pin. I contacted Apollo. But unfortunately they have no more SS 18650 Vtubes available.
