Hey guys, new to the forum been vaping for a few months though.....

Ok,so I started on the V2 and it's been going good, but I just recently went completley off analogs ( 5th day ) and the V2 just isn't cutting it any more. So after reading through this forum I decided on a lava tube kit from Apollo ( just ordered it ) I also ordered a 6 ml dual coil tank cart... My question is, is that everything I need to get started? Or is there something else I should order before I receive the kit? ........... Thanks for any info

I would order a couple packs of 3 Ohm Boge cartomizers. I'm not a fan of tanks in general, and especially not the Smoktech DCTs. Boges hold ~1ml of fluid each, and don't take up much space in a pocket, so pretty easy to carry if you're not interested in carrying a bottle of juice around. I would also consider picking up a 3 ohm atomizer and drip tip or two. A syringe is effective for filling/priming cartos quickly, but isn't necessary.

Most importantly, what sort of experience are you looking to get out of your Lavatube? That determines the nature of other accessories you might want.

Depending on which version of Lavatube and which Ω rating of DC carto you've ordered, the DC may not work. If it's the original LT with a 2.5 Amp max, it probably wont.

Im no expert with this stuff so I'm not sure lol, but i got the only lava tube that Apollo carries , and a 3 ohm DC....

O.k. That's got the ver. 1 electronics with the 2.5 amp current limit. Basically, all that means is that you don't want to run any carto or atomizer on it that is less than 2ohms, and preferably 3ohms.

Normally, those Dual coil cartos are 1.5ohms and the LT will automatically cut your voltage to 3.7V, regardless of what you try to set it on. Remember the 2.5 amp limit. Amps= Volts/ohms 3.7/1.5=2.47 amps.

Luckily, the carto in your DC tank is a 3ohm model. That will let you use the full spectrum of available voltages on the LT without butting up against that 2.5 amp limit.

If I were you, I'd make sure I had at least a pack or two of regular 3ohm cartomizers. You're not going to want to use a tank for everything and you won't want to be emptying and refilling the tank every time you change flavors.

That's a sweet LT. I almost bought one on pre-order myself, but I already have a regular black one, so I couldn't justify it. IF you go to the Lavatube sub-forum in the Variable Voltage forum, there's a lot of talk about it.

At 3.0Ω, you'll be ok regardless of the LT version.

Cool, thx..... I'm the type of guy that likes to have the best of whatever I'm buying so eventually I'm gonna upgrade to the provari (sp?) but this is my first mod, and from what I can tell it'll be a huge upgrade from my regular V2 ( which has served its purpose ) but has also run its course.....and from what I can tell the lava tube seems to be liked by alot, so I'll use it until I'm ready to upgrade again

Also should I get more than 1 tank for different flavors? I don't mean all flavors, but keep tobacco flavored juice in one and fruit juice in another or does it matter?

It doesn't matter that much. You're going to have to rinse out the tank and use a fresh cartomizer anyway.
I'm using Fluxomizers myself. They have a real clean taste, they hold a lot and they don't leak. They also come in 2.8-3.0ohms, so they work great on the Lavatubes.

I'm not too big on trying a bunch of flavors ( mostly because if I even start, I'll be wanting to try them all ) but I've been using the red from V2, its ok, but I have some USA red ordered from my freedomsmokes.com ( read some good reviews on it ) if I like it, I'll stick with it for my " main " juice and I'll probably try to find a decent fruit flavored juice for my "change of pace " juice...... Eventually I think I'd like to get away from the tobacco flavor all-together, but I'm a little ways from that yet.....thx for the input though

Hahaha.. I remember saying that exact same thing. I'll bet you a bag of chips that once you try a couple flavors, you'll be trying a lot of flavors, and in six months, you'll wonder just what it was that you liked about the taste of tobacco. :)

Still do get some regular cartos to keep on hand. They don't last all that long, even in a tank. If you get the XL size, you can always punch a hole, or cut a slot, in them yourself if you need to change out the carto in your tank.

Do I need the ego adaptor from Apollo? I seen a video that the guy used it on his, but he acted like it wasn't a necessity?

Edit-the description says that my kit should have one with it.....so I guess not , idk

Right. You have the new body style that takes most ego stuff without an adapter. If you go to the LT forum, there is some talk about an "airy" draw and some people have corrected it with some other adapter. I forget the details though. Maybe they're using an additional ego adapter to tighten up the draw some.

Haha, that's what I'm afraid of...can picture myself having to buy a small dresser for all my juices...ugh lol
How long do the cartos last? And I'm not even really sure what to get, you have a link from Apollo? I can prob just add it to my order....I'm still using my v2 lol, all I do all day is charge, put a cart on, have to grab another cart 3 hrs later, charge again, refill 1st cart, repeat all day!!! What a pain....so I'm not even sure about the "workings" of the lava tube and all that
