I'm kinda partial, I just got a Vamo and love it. The variable wattage feature is excellent. Set your wattage, and the Vamo adjusts to the resistance of whatever delivery device you screw on top. Very simple, very effective. You can also use either one 18650 battery, stack two 18350 batteries, or make the Vamo considerably shorter (at the expense of battery life) by using one 18350 battery.

The Vamo can use either 1 X 18650 (although I saw someone here who tried it with 2 and it worked!) or you can use either a single 18350 or 2 X 18350 stacked battery configuration so the length of the tube is variable as well. Not sure how they compare in performance or feel. Prices for stuff is going to be kinda all over the board based on what the manufacturer's base price setting is. I went with the Vamo based on price, options and tailorability but everyone is different. For less than the kit you linked, I was able to get the Vamo, 2 X panasonic 18650 2200 mAh imr batteries, 1 Nitecore I2 charger, a 6 pack of clearos (which I will be upgrading from!) enough DIY nic juice to last about 8 months and some flavorings. YMMV

Vamo is an amazing device in my opinion, just set and forget pretty much. It is well constructed and has a plethora of battery options. I would recommend this device personally since I own one. I do not know much about the Lavatube but I have heard it is also a stellar device. Vamo is also relatively inexpensive compared to some that do the same thing. I personally went with the Vamo because I like a smaller a sleek device in public. I do not think the lavatube comes able to use different batteries, but correct me if I am wrong. I think they essentially have the same setup as to how to operate the device. Its like comparing two apples, they are similar, but if you look close they might have some things not in common. Hope this helps??

Vamo it is thanks guys

One thing I would Suggest when you get your Vamo...

The threads on mine were cut Dead Sharp. They were hard to Start and were easy to Cross Thread. I took a piece of 400 Sand Paper and VERY LIGHTLY hit the threads to knock of the Sharp Edges. Then put some Nolox on them.

It was a Night/Day Improvement.

The vamo has 510 and ego threading but some have suggested getting adapters to protect the threading. If you don't mind waiting for mail from china, fasttech has a pretty good deal on a kit here!

$52.08 Vamos-Vivi Rechargeable 900mAh Electronic Cigarette Health Keeping Set - 2*18350 / stainless steel / US plug at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Use coupon code CPASTE13SPRING to bring the total to $49.48

They have free shipping. You would probably want to get different batteries for it like these:

$10.03 Panasonic CGR18650CH Rechargeable 2250mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

And maybe a better charger. I got the Nitecore I2 smart charger.

There are other vendors here in the states as well that carry Vamo and Vamo kits. I can't speak for those since I ordered from elsewhere and "made" my own kit. I used vaporbreak, fasttech and wizardlabs.

Been hearing about this nolax stuff but don't know where to find it

You can get it at just about Any Home Center like Home Depot or Lowes. Or a Good Hardware Store. It in the Electrical Section.

If they haven't heard of it when you ask, tell them it's that stuff you put on Fuse Connection to keep them from Corroding in a Power Panel.
