I just wanted to give a quick review of my latest purchase. I recently got bit by the high voltage bug after trying a couple friends' 6V units out. So, for my first mod purchase, I was super picky with my money, I've read way too many "I should've tried someone else's before I bought one" threads. I am fortunate enough to have all kinds of brick and mortar shops popping up in my area, so I can try more devices and find what works for me. Long story short, stumbled upon the Lava Tube and fell in love. I've seen the reviews online and was skeptical because the price seemed too good to be true. However, the only complaint is from my wife, she says that now, I'm producing too much vapor and she can smell my Bavarian Creme when I'm puffing it. As with any VV noob, I've spent the first week playing with the settings, finding what voltages are best for the juices I vape. So far, I've dropped it once, getting out of my car, and other than a slight nick in the surface, you can't even tell. In fact, no paint came off or anything.
At first, I was on the fence about needing a VV option, but in the mornings, 6V can be a little hard on the throat, it's nice to be able to click a button a few times and be set at 3.4V instead of fumbling with batteries and springs or spacers. Very satisfied so far, recommending it to everybody

So, say I wanted one. I live in NW OH....no smoke shops around here (rural) so where would I get one? :)

Check out DFWVapor.com. They sell it as the "Pompeii" but it IS The lava tube.

I was very skeptical because of the name, but the owner says they like their name better. The full kit is $79.00, which is $4 higher than the manufacturers site, which doesn't have a "kit" option when I last checked. The kit from dfw comes with 2 18650 batteries, the unit, charger and 2 standard drip atty's(with bridge-type wick). It didn't include a drip tip or mouthpiece however, but I've already got my tanks with mouthpieces, so that wasn't an issue for me. And for me, the price difference was worth me getting to see/try it in person and not have to wait for it in the mail lol

Thinking about one. What do you think about the fire button placement? I have heard people say its awkward and uncomfortable.
I actually really like the button and how clicky it is! I played with it at the ecig-city store in Laguna beach ca. The benifit of going to a store I suppose! In some ways I like the way the button felt better than the Provari, in the end however I went with the ProvarI just because it's beatiful and built like a tank! I will say I did love the button on the Lava Tube though and placement was perfect for me!!!

The Manufacturer Volcano sells the kit now complete for $99. $69 if you just want the tube.

I was bouncing back and forth between the SmokTek vari cool and this one but after you build the varicool it is more than the LT. I did however like the switching regulator on the varicool. I'll just have to wait and see how this one performs.

Ordered my kit last night so it should be here by tuesday. Excited!!

I'm surprised more people have not ordered the Lavatube in silver! I like the Lava Tube and think we will see enhancements on the fit and finish over the next 12months! I like the clicky button on it, although I ran into one guy who's button on the LT would stick!

All in all, this is a very nice and affordable VV device that fulfills a need for many vapors!

Have a LT but starting to have issues with the button. It clicks but doesn't always fire. Have to work it around a bit to get it on. Noticed a couple other locals having similar issues. Hope it doesn't get worse. Overall, nice piece, reasonable price.

I hope this issue doesn't end up being some recurring trend...just got mine yesterday.

My local shop sells the kit for $89.95. So far I'm very pleased. I just moved from a standard eGo with DCts. Very pleased!

I like mine as well. I have yet to use it over 4.5 on SR cartos, or SR anything for that matter. I have yet to drain the 18650 battery below 3.5v on any given day running it at around an avg of 4.1v. I didn't expect any more or less than what I have gotten from it actually. In my case, any more would have been overkill for what mods are really designed to do. I've been running mine with a 510 to EGO adapter with the newest stardust cartos almost exclusively and it works and looks proper to my eye. I could actually get by just fine with the mini.

"Fire" button issues - I have read, in search engine results for lava tube, complaints about the button, although I have yet to read one cause I haven't had any problems...until recently. I noticed that my button stopped clicking when I pushed it to take a drag. , and sometimes, it would click, but nothing would happen(got no vapor), and sometimes, it would keep vaping after I released the button. This was starting to worry me, until I went to pull the battery and was gonna disassemble my unit. When I started unscrewing the battery cap, the button popped out to the default condition and clicked everytime I pushed it. Upon further "testing" and troubleshooting this issue, I came to this conclusion : I have been over tightening my battery cap, which causes the internals to shift slightly, interfering with button operation. Since I discovered this, I haven't had any additional problems. Hope somebody finds this useful.
