OK, so this is the first vv device I've purchased. I like to drip because I enjoy just changing flavors on a whim and will sometimes use 3-4 different flavors a day. But I can't seem to get dripping down right with this device. I'll add 6 drops to the atomizer(did the same amount with my Ego) and vape at 4.2 volts. And it's totally amazing. Wonderful flavor and vapor without a harsh throat hit. That lasts maybe 3-4 hits and then I get slammed with this harsh, harsh hit. So I figure it's sucked the juice out fast and I add 6 more drops. Then it runs out the side, so it didn't need more juice obviously. Repeat the procedure and get knocked down with the throat hit and then only add a couple of drops. Still too much juice, and it leaks.

So, I started experimenting some. When I get that first harsh hit, I'll dial it down to 3.7 volts and vape. When it starts tasting off, like it's getting ready to hit harsh again, I dial it down to 3.2 volts. I vape that until it gets harsh and then thinking that maybe it's empty I'll add a couple of more drops and.....leaks again.

Grrrr....What am I doing wrong? I don't want a harsh throat hit, I don't like it anymore. I just am hunting for a lot of flavor with the sensation of drawing in something heavier than air(if that makes sense) and I get that with the right juice and voltage, but can't figure out where the harsh is coming from after 3-4 hits on it if it's not out of juice.

I also bought a tank to use with this and it eliminates the above problems and vapes like a champ, hitting me exactly the way I want. But I can't change flavors as frequently as I can with dripping. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I think I know where you are coming from.... I have been hitting my LT at 4.8-5.2v with a 3ohm dripping atty from Smart Vapes... I was having the same issue with some leaking... I found dripping just 2 more drops solved it... I of course don't get as many pulls but dripping a couple of drops more frequently seems to have stoped the leaking...

Thanks guys. Blew it out and limiting it to 3 drops seems to help. Still leaks, just not as badly. Nomoreash, I always put 6 drops in my Ego atty before I use it. And don't really have a leakage issue with it. Occasionally yeah, but not all the time. So I figured it would work the same on this. Evidently, I figured wrong. :D

Is that the Ego with the cone on? If so the atty is still leaking but the cone is holding it. I don't know of any regular size 510 atty that can take 6 drops at a time unless they are really small drops.

House mouse, im having the same issues once in a while using either the atty or a clearomizer, going fine and then boom, icky harsh hit. I was thinking i may be doing too many hits too fast and if i set it down it seems to be better.

Sounds like it's not wicking fast enough. It happens alot when the clearos get below full. Try fliping it over long enough for the liquid to run down around the atty cup before each hit.

No cone. I just tried it again with 6 drops on my Ego and no leaks. Now if I try to put any more drops in without vaping it all entirely out, then yeah it leaks. The drops are out of a 30ml bottle of juice from FSUSA. So, I dunno. It's an old atty. Been using it on there about 2 months. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Set it down??? Surely you jest. :p I'm glad I'm not the only one having a dripping issue. Not that I'm glad you are, just glad it ain't just me. I'll use the tank for the drive to work and back. Have to use the Ego at work to stay in stealth mode. So that just leaves dripping on this as something I'll do at home. It'll be alright. I have plenty of paper towels here. :D

Not familiar with those. I think I'm about to go on a google search.

This is the drip shield that I use on both my eGo's and mods (with the avid eGo/510 adapter)

i wonder if part of op's problem is that the juice is heated up more (running greater voltageon the LT vs the ego) thus making the liquid "runnier/thinner"? IF thats what it does, it would explain the leaking.

a question regarding the drip shield: if you drip too much into an atty with a drip shield, doesnt the juice still puddle right on top of the battey post?

If you are using a sealed 510-510 extension which you would need for most 510 fittings it will not puddle on the battery post...
