Well, it appears that on my black Lavatube that I got 5 weeks ago the LCD display is malfunctioning. Only part of the numbers is visible with makes it hard to tell at what voltage I'm vaping without counting the 'clicks'. But, I opened a ticket with Volcano and I will return the tube for testing and replacement. Since I only have a Greensmoke mini aside from the LT, I ordered another LT body this morning, this time in Chrome. It should get here by Tuesday or Wednesday. Once it does, I'm returning my black tube for replacement, got a prepaid label from Volcano.

Love their customer service, they are quick at shipping and quick at answering emails.

Didn't want to order another LT right now but I'll be darned if I go back to analogs while waiting for my replacement until and the mini isn't doing it for me anymore. Got too used to my LT and the clouds of vapor I'm getting. :vapor:

That sucks but at least it still works and if you lose track of what volt it's set to you can always remove the battery for more than 10 secs to reset it to 3v. Electronics fail sometimes it's good you got one with a 1 year warranty.

I took a bit of risk to save money and bought one with an only 30 day warranty..it's worked flawlessly for over 2 months now though. From how many seem to have been sold it doesn't seem a lot fail but some do..good luck with your replacement and new one :)

havving a backup LT wouldn't hurt anyway.

LOL! I sort of doubt the new one will be my backup. I think it'll be my primary with the black tube as backup. The new one is shiny chrome and I know myself, I love shiny things.... I wanted that one when I ordered the black one but it wasn't available from Volcano yet and I like their warranties, so I settled for the black tube. This LCD breakdown was now a nice excuse to order the chrome one as "backup"..... :)

Thanks! I seen some of the ones with 30 day warranties but I was more comfortable with the 1 year. Had I had only a 30-day, I'd be stuck dealing with a half-readable display. This way, I should get a replacement after volcano does their testing..... :)

Yeah 1 year is nice from the vendor but IDK about the extra cost they were charging (I haven't looked in a bit)..I'm pretty sure if mine failed I could contact the manufacturer and get a replacement/repair done for 1 year but it probably wouldn't be worth it because of shipping to China and the time it would take.

I believe the manufacturer sells these with a 1 year but smaller vendors who only buy small orders don't get extra units like the bigger ones and probably can't absorb the costs of replacing/shipping so they only offer shorter warranties with a lower cost of the device.

I also probably could repair most issues with these devices if I choose to try because I do some electronics repair (probably not your issue though without just replacing the board which I'm not sure I could buy one) so I don't worry too much :)

Yeah, if you have some electrical knowledge, you can probably fix a lot of issues yourself. Me myself, I'm a nurse, totally electrically challenged.. LOL! I paid $99 for my first started kit from volcano and $79 for the Chrome unit body yesterday and the return shipping is easy, they sent me a prepaid label so I like that, too....... Naturally, small vendors can't afford to offer these kind of replacements, they'd go belly-up with the cost. Don't think the cost was significantly different on my first unit when i bought it and I got 2 batteries, a charger, and 2 attys with it so I think it was a pretty decent deal......
