I posted this in the general AVP forum because it's not just about the Lavatube but other mods as well. When I screw on a tank/tubetank onto my Lavatube and screw it down, I notice that it is not sitting totally flat all around the bottom of the tank where the bottom of the tank meets the top crown of the device (it's slightly off/crooked) but not by much but enough to notice.

Now I heard this was a known issue with the Lavatube because of how cheap it is, personally I don't like it and would prefer it to be straight and flat all around. I'm buying a ProVari at the end of the month and I wanted to know from other ProVari owners if I would see this issue with that device as well or because of it's better build quality, should I not see this issue?

Thanks

I seem to recall a thread in the last week that touched on this very subject. I think it was the carto's that they were using and on a provari to boot! I want to say they were smoktech carto's they were using and just got a bad batch. There were a few people that chimed in on the subject. I will keep an eye out and see if I can find it....

So you think it's a carto issue and not the physical tank? Strange because when I put the carto on the device without a tank it sits fine (at least I don't notice anything), everything seems to be nice and flat and flush. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a problem when I get my new ProVari...I will be very frustrated if I have to continue dealing with this.

Does anyone recommend a tank/carto system from one vendor where there has been no reports of issues like this?

This is making me nervous now:(

I don't think it could be the carto's fault.. not unless there are crocked cartos out there... if it isn't the connector's fault, it has to be the tank build. My DC tanks sit straight and are flush with the bottom of whatever I put them on. Yes, this has been a known issue with the LT .. the one I had was straight though.

If you order a Provari.. chances are you will get one that has a straight connector, but .. stuff happens. You could probably even specify in your order that you are super concerned about this and for them to please make double sure that the connector is even and centered.

is it a tubetank? not sure if this will help but after you screw it on hold the outer top of the tank and twist slowly while pushing down. it should seat itself into the bottom which is shaped to fit in the groove under the tank. if not then im not sure. thats the only issue i had with mine.

Sounds like a combination problem-slightly off connector meets slightly off carto/tank, the two combine to make your pv look like a banana; unfortunately the only solution is to have the vendors check every item-and pass the cost along to us. Don't look for help from the manufacturers-'acceptable failure rate' is one of the down sides to mass production.

Oh there's my friend Donnah who is buying me my first ProVari:toast: That's actually a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I assume there is a "note" section when ordering to send to them?

yep.. just waiting on the 31st so I can get you one in black with a blue led :D

( I don't remember if there's a note section but you can always email them.. they respond very quickly) Ummm.. excuse me.. I'll email them when I order LOL

i just put mine on and see what you mean, i never noticed before. but, I decided im staying away from tanks unless im doing a day trip so im not bothered by that. i go through way too much juice.
good luck your provari :)

Interesting, The ProVape-1 and ProVari are actually MADE and ASSEMBLED in the USA.... Though some of the electronic parts on the circuit board are imported..... That kind of wipes out being a USA MADE and ASSEMBLED product!!!!!

From there description it's mostly Made in the USA..probably well over 90%..I figured the chips where probably made elsewhere.

As for the connections being crooked on the "LT" or Provari it has been posted about both devices..but I suspect most of the time the connector is strait but when the connector is new the rubber under the pin is a bit thick..so the carto/atomizer probably doesn't screw down all the way making it "crooked".

After it's used awhile it should squish the rubber and it should screw down all the way. I noticed this with my "LT" but after a bit of use it squished down and everything goes in all the way..really this is good that it sticks up a bit too far because I've never had a connection issue nor had to "pull my post" on my "LT" once in the last 3 months.

So unless the top of the connector looks crooked I wouldn't worry about it too much as after awhile the pin should squish down some..you could even put a strait edge on it and see how strait it is just be sure to not put one end of it in a slot...

Wasn't trying to be funny or an ... about what I commented, just to set the record straight for anyone thinking otherwise..... I think they need to retract the "Made in the USA" status of the unit to read "Assembled in the USA"...... Unless the complete unit is actually manufactured in the USA it shouldn't be marketed falsely.....
